That would have worked as well.

No a period and capitol is the only way to do it. If you do it any other way you're an idiot. That's the same as adding random hyphens in your sentences. Funny thing, is that being "USDM" in Japan is all the rage. Hell, their take on how to build a mini-truck, hot-rod, muscle car, etc, blows probably 75% of North American builds out of the water.
