That's also something that could work, that is actually how I got them to get used to wet food, slowly adding more and more wet to the dry. Dry/wet combo would give him a good amount of water while keeping costs down so that definitely could work very well. If you do go that route I would suggest you gradually add the wet food to the mix over the course of a few weeks.

BTW cats normally need a few weeks to get used to a particular food brand(depends on the cats really) but any changes to food brands/type is recommended to be done gradually as the cats gut needs to build up the proper flora to properly digest the food and its many ingredients.

I don't know how this would be for cats but I put a splash of Aloe Vera juice on my dog's dry food. it makes it a little softer for her without turning her poop into soup and it makes her coat super soft and shiny. plus it's super cheap at Wal-Mart.

What ticked me off the most, more than not being notified on her disappearance, that it didn't don on anyone to put out food or water to attract her back or let alone feed her. But i was glad she made it and glad to hear yours made it back home too.
Yeah not being aware would have made me crazy. Cat's when they do run normally stick in a 5house radius (so like within a 1000feet radius) mostly. I actually had to get a live trap to get my cat back as he was not responding to humans yet ws not scared of other animals. weird things these cats

I would be weary of adding anything to a cat or dogs diet without that ingredient being tested. Aloe vera shouldn't be too bad (escpecially for a dog who is a omnivore) but I'm unsure if a cat would be able to digest it properly and would be curious to know if any of the substance contained in aloe vera are toxic long term to cats, doubt it but wouldn't be taking my chances with it. Plus water is cheap too and you know it's good

Well you get points for accidently using it instead of "wary" usually it is used in place of "leery" which is of course even a worse screw up since they are totally different.

leery would indeed have been a terrible words to misuse/typo.

wary: feeling of caution based off of possible problems

leery : feeling of caution due to realistic suspicions

since I was only basing myself on a presumption than wary was the right use. Had I know that Aloe was bad I would have been leery of it.
