Nope. Oakwood/Flowery Branch. North of Atlanta. Probably fly into Atlanta and rent a car though since I don't think there is anyplace big enough to fly into that is any closer.

Yes they are. The downtown entertainment area (casinos, stadiums, etc) is actually getting very nice. My wife and I frequently stay at the casino in Greektown on trips and for about a 10 block radius it is well kept up, clean and relatively safe. It is also nice that the river is actualy a proper colour for water once again. We enjoy many activities in that area.
Now get out side of down town and it is a war zone.

Yes, yes I will let you know when I pass through.
As long as they don't close the plant 2 weeks before my trip like they did when I was supposed to go to Portland!

As a New Yorker, I'm not sure what you mean by proper colour water. Is water not supposed to be BrownGreen?

Shots fired. Though I browsed s2ki and Honda Tech for a month when I was still interested in the S2000. Could swear my brain cells died while over there. s2ki was much better than HT though.

Ya, they are bulldozing all the old buildings around the core and slowly spreading it out. Most of the waterfront and downtown area is really very nice. Since all the car money is gone they are now going for the tourist/convention/sports trade.

But...

Do not make a wrong turn on the way out of town. You will die!

Oh, I did. From I was about 9 or 10. Learned a lot of cool words and phrases they didn't teach us in school :-)
"What, Me Worry?" has been my motto ever since.
Alfred E. Neuman was a great philosopher :-)

"In retrospect it becomes clear that hindsight is definitely overrated"

"If opera is entertainment, then falling off a roof is transportation"

"The only advantage to living in the past is that the rents are much cheaper"

"Getting old is when a narrow waist and a broad mind change places"

"Who says nothing is impossible? Some people do it every day"

"You can be on the right track and still get hit by a train"

"No turbo, don't you think it's to slow?" "What, me worry? I just head for the twisties"

"Hey, doesn't that cricket sound annoy you?" "What, me worry? I just feed them different fuel and they quiet down".

etc...

My favorite Alfred E. Neuman quote (the little blurb at the top of each Table of Contents).

You couldn't pick the family you were born into, but you can pick the family your children are born into.
Amen, brotha! Amen.
