Got a call today, still waiting for the correct pressure plate. Toyota rep there now to look at the car. Maybe there's a reason they are no longer called mechanics but are now known as techs.
Maybe the rep will see that they are screwing up the install. At this point I am completely baffled as to why they can't get the car back together.

Dumbfounded!

Shit, I've replaced a clutch and clutch master/slave when my pedal went to the floor without issue (took the fork out to do it, replacing that would have been cake in the procedure).

Wish I could charge >$100/hour.

At this point I wouldn't put anything past these knuckle heads.

We'll see what the rep comes up with. Maybe they are trying to put in an automatic transmission and can't figure out why the clutch won't engage.

I will ask them about the throw out bearing when I speak to them again

Got a call this morning from the dealer. The car is ready, they replaced the flywheel now! I guess the Toyota field rep carries these around with him/her. That was about the last original piece left in the drive train. Needless to say I have asked the dealer to list all new parts installed as well as any of the original parts that were re-installed. To tell the truth I have lost track of the parts. I think I'm going to have to shell out a few bucks to have an independent shop evaluate the repair as I have ZERO confidence in the dealership. I'll get the car tonight after work and hopefully it's okay. If it is, this will be the last they see of me at this particular dealership.
Anybody in New Hampshire that wants the name of the dealership to avoid just let me know.

Paranoid, maybe. There is definitely a noise, vibration at ~ 3200 rpm that seems to be from the shifter. Pulling up on the reverse lock out appears to quiet it down some. Maybe some linkage lubrication issue?
Way back when I first test drove the car I remember that it did seem to feel a bit rough transmission wise but settled down after. Yes I did buy the car anyhow! How can you argue with the looks

I'll give it a few more miles and see if this transmission settles down. Not an OMG something's wrong sound but not quite as smooth as the old transmission.

So boys and girls the story for now appears to over. Whether they all lived happily ever after remains to be seen!
