I think Subie E2 signal is just ECM chassis ground and not earth ground. There can be many different ground points.

edit: Honda SG3 indicates a chassis ground.

Well I know on the Scion TC, VC is a 12V and E2 was 5V and they seperately power the TPS and Throttle plate, but if there is a ground in the harness it's definitely E2 which would mean

Subaru pin 3 to Honda pin 4 with no need to leave anything disconnected or run a chassis ground separately, ensure Subaru pin 3 isn't hot first though.

I agree with this. Worth a physical check.

yes. Doublecheck the black-with-yellow-striped wire. make sure there is no DC anything on it with the ignition turned on.

Yes, that's correct. Might want to buy some OEM connectors and make a conversion harness, far more reversible than re-pinning, also check stock pins 5 and 3 for voltage (black wires), if there is any danger of a short it's there. If our assumptions are correct black blue should be a voltage source and black yellow should be a ground.

Confirmed that it is indeed a ground. Now the fun part....

You might have some whacky strain due to the mismatched wire lengths after repin. You may already know that so apologies in advance. Just giving cheap advice. I like @Decay107's idea about making a converter but we know this is just an experiment.

Eh, re-pinning is trivial. Lets see if it works first.

I also just all but confirmed that the K20 TB actually bolts onto our IM if you rotate it 90*. Can't quite fit it in there to actually try to bolt it up due to not wanting to disconnect the coolant lines on the stock one to remove it completely.

One annoying thing - Subaru spec'd M6 bolts for the TB where the Honda uses M8. I guess it's a good thing it isn't the other way around...

You guys are correct that a harness would be better, if only to get additional slack on the wires. Subaru didn't spare -any- length on the connector, and with rotating the TB to make it fit, it'd be sketchy. Although since this experiment is really for SC kits that likely move the position of the TB anyways, it may be a moot point.
