First battle scar

Well, some inconsiderate jerk already decided to put a nice fist-sized dent in my brand new fr-s. I must admit I'm kind of at a loss at what I should do.

Should I just leave it? Should I fix it? What are your opinions?

GD dude, that sucks. Personally, I would get it fixed.

My sympathy is yours.

Get one of those paintless dent removal guy to fix it. It should look brand new again for a couple of hundred dollars or less.

@Draco-REX it's above the driver-side rear tire. i'll post pics tomorrow if there's still interest
@Starscream15 thanks for the sympathy. i'm just concerned that if i get this dent fixed someone else will just damage it again. i can't really afford it right now.

This sort of thing was the reason I happily paid for the dent/ding repair program my dealer offered. It cost $995, but covers 24/7 roadside assistance, paintless ding and dent repair, any damage to the alloy wheels, and lost key replacement for five years.

I may never use it (hopefully), but it's nice to know if some jerkass dings my car I can get it fixed at no cost to me.

wow that is heartless. i would cry for a good 30 min tbh.

but like the others said if you're lucky and the dent isn't obstructed by the interior framework of the door they should be able to push it out. if it is hard to reach, i know there are some who use some kind of suction thing to pull out the dent but i dunno how well that works.

unless it's in an area where you can't really do paintless dent repair... or if your paint actually does come off (a lot of paintless dent removal guys won't touch areas that may further get chipped).

I also vote for paintless but that's a hard area. Probably has to be tapped out with hammers. It wouldn't hurt to wait because I'm afraid if the paint is too new, maybe it needs time to set or something? Might risk further damage.

Some of the painless dent removal guys are wizards sent by from heaven. I had a pretty good sized "ding" in the roof of a 911 near the top of the b pillar. I was more or less resigned that it'd be there forever -- and then a friend insisted that I use his dent guy. Phenomenal results. Never in a million years would you be able to tell there was a ding up there.

I hope you have similar results… Take before and after pics. Fingers crossed…

What ticks me off is when you park the car away from everyone and someone intentionally damages your car. Happened twice to me. Once with my Acura GSR and then again with my brand new Mustang GT. This was some years ago. Some people just cannot stand to see other people have nice stuff.

You have my full sympathy!

You have my total sympathy, I hadn't had my car for a full 24 hours before a cat scratched the trunk lid to hell and back. (not terrible....but more than a handful of scratches, some half as long as the trunk is wide)

Here's to hoping you'll be able to get a painless fix for it.
