8.5" is the narrowest rim width Hankook suggests on a 255 for the Ventus Evo2, so I doubt it's flush, it'll definitely have a slight bulge. They're also rated for up to 10", so they shouldn't be stretched on a 9.5" wheel.

In any case, I wouldn't suggest running square tire sizing on staggered rims. The narrower wheel is going to feel mushier. I'd still suggest 225/235 front and 245/255 rear.

255's up front have a chance of rubbing on stock shocks as well.

No issues on mine, i even added a little more front camber recently -0.8f and i hit twisties as often as i can

You got some strange advice. I've never heard of anybody running different brands/compounds on the front and rear for performance reasons. Unless you're thinking DRs on the rear.

Don't mix load index and speed ratings. I would have recommended a square setup but since your wheels are already en route, 235/40 for the front and 255/40 rear.

TC/VSC probably won't like that. It would be happier with 235/45 and 255/40.

235/35 and 255/35 are closer to stock diameter. A 235/45 is almost 6% larger than stock, a 235/35 is less than 1%

The problem isn't difference from stock, it's difference from the other end of the car. 235/35 and 255/35 are 0.5" different to each other.

2.2% difference, but moving away from stock diameter will affect gear ratios, mpg, speedo, and may very well result in rubbing depending on the setup

I'm not disputing that, but having wheels too different front/rear will definitely make the TSC and VSC freak out. Not sure what the threshold is, but it's very real.

225/40/18 is almost bang on stock diameter too for the fronts.

255 on 9.5, the edge of the wheel is exposed from the side, and the sidewall is not 90degree angle, thats what i call a slight stretch



255 on 8.5, perfect fit imho

Thanks im happy w it, and you had mentioned you didnt want to mess up the speedo etc. i had square 18x9.5, but w the 8.5 fronts they fit the car better both functionally and form, they are lighter, and i like the flat face front wheel w the concave rear wheel. Keeping the square 255 prevented any issues with getting two different tire sizes to work well together, as well as retaining the square fitment for handling purposes.
