i'd love to try the smaller pulley or a c38,

pretty sure it will result in broken bits sooner though wether it be clutch, axles or whatever else since the car only gets driven for autox/track atm it currently sees nothing but abuse.

most of the time it still seems like the extra power wouldn't really be able to utilized fully, the c30 and stock pulley (93 oct) goes very well (for my uses) when you dig hard on it (wot in 2nd a lot for autox, wot 3rd-5th a lot on track). With 265 re71-r traction isn't a huge issue, but its far from impossible to lose it either.

ended up parked next to a worked over elise with a c38 among other mods this weekend at a test and tune using a very short configuration to the local autox venue.

he claimed to be in the low 2000lbs range and over 400 hp, far greter power to weight than the c30 and frs, let alone he was a solid 100 lbs less than my fat ass.

still put about 2 seconds on him on a 40 second course.

That just means you can drive better than him.

I agree.

Brain fog rambling about the c30 and base pulley being not bad i guess.

the car looked to be set up very very well, it lacked nothing and its power to weight was silly. Generally around here an elise that well setup isnt being driven by a terrible driver.

Annoying Noise Developed

Guys, I need your opinion. I tried my best to find this annoying noise with no luck. Sent blower and idler pulley's to @KraftWerks already. They did replace the idler's, but they can only do visual inspection on the blower. They said it will void warranty if they open it up, which is fine.

No boost leak or loosed hose, those where the first thing I checked. 3 freaking weekends already I wasted i trying to find the source of the noise. Removed bumper 3x already.

It's the back ground noise that goes up and down with the RPM. It's like our cricket's but much, much louder.

I attached the link for the sound clip. Noise BTW is gone when the belt broke the 2nd time. Noise is also present from 60 HZ all the way down to where I already have a belt slap.

Opnions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Now that you guys heared it, it's really freaking annoying driving around with that noise, specially when on stop light. It's also the last sound you hear after turning of the car.

If you take the blower belt off the noise goes away? Then it's either the blower or the idlers. The idlers have been checked so that leaves the blower.
How's your oil level for the blower?
Is there an oil line kinked somewhere between the blower/cooler/oil reservoir that's not letting it flow?
Somewhere way back in this thread someone put belt dressing on the blower belt for a similar noise. May wanna try that.

All oil line are routed in a neatly with no kink. That was me who used the belt dressing. This one is completely different animal all together. Fluid level is perfect and still blue.

That's what I figured that all source of noise where all eliminated and the only thing left is the blower. But @KraftWerks are trying but they all keep on saying they hardly hear the noise.

Do you clearly hear it?

I hear a high pitched whine. Like a bearing is grinding or something isn't lubed.

Someone else's blower might be on the way out, I think it was @Freeman, maybe ask him (or whoever it was) if they had a similar sound before sending it in.

Maybe search for "strange/weird Rotrex sound" or "broken Rotrex?" on YouTube there might be some comparison clips.

@KraftWerks could also say something like "As one of the top distributors of Rotrex, we know when one is failing and it does/doesn't sound like that."

Funny thing is, it seems like none from @KraftWerks hear, what you guys confirmed to hear like I do. Freaking bummer :-(

I also don't want to blow 100 plus for a fluid change, knowing that it will just be back. Plus my fluid is still blue.

@CSG Mike your very familiar with the Rotrex , what do you think?
