Someone please help me clarify this D:

Hi guys,

I know this might be better off in the cosmetic departments but I need halp on this.

Can you guys please tell me what this is? Is it the clear coat coming off? Or is it just some nasty stain. I tried scratching it off but it seems like it's stuck on there.

This is on the left side oem spoiler right above the tail lights.

Is it just in the clearcoat or down into the base paint? If in the clear, you could do some light sanding and lots of buffing to try and get it corrected. If you're still under warranty, you could also try and take it to the dealer.

I would take that in for sure. Hard to tell from pics but looks all the world like clear coat peeling off. The good news is that it is probably restricted to the spoiler as they are not painted on the car so the rest should be fine.

I think it's just the clear coat. The paint looks fine but you're right, didn't think about the warranty. Definitely going to take it in.

Thanks! I will definitely take it in, maybe this weekend. The left wing of the spoiler looks like it's having clear coat coming off as well. Didn't get any pics of it.

I meant hair that's dried under the clear. Not the first imperfections I've seen come out of the factory tho, mine had some minor issues as well.

ohh nah it shouldnt be that. When I scratched a small part it looked like it got lighter but was not easy to scratch. I'm pretty sure it's the clear coat coming off....for some reason.

I wax my car often so I would've seen this before. Just noticed it yesterday

How often is often? Could it be a buildup of wax? Waxing is essentially just another protective layer on top of the clear coat... would make sense that you can overdo it.

Yep! This is possible as well. The pic just isn't clear enough to tell.
