Transmission grind from 3rd-4th, remove mods before bringing to dealer?
So I've noticed for a while now that I have a grind from 3rd to 4th when shifting at high RPM's. I noticed that a lot of other people have had this same issue. My question is, currently I have the Perrin Shifter bushing, Whiteline Transmission bushing, and Mtec shifter springs installed. Do you guys think I need to remove all of these mods before bringing in the car to the dealer? I'm guessing so, but I wanted to ask before I spend the time/money to do so.

Bushings:yes. I doubt anyone would notice the Mtec springs unless they go specifically searching for it (and have an OE piece for comparison).

I probably would, for two reasons:
1. Dealer might complain 2. If dealer doesn't complain, but decides to swap/fix the trans, you might end up losing the parts since they most likely wont switch them over (especially the mtec springs). |

take 5 minutes to remove the whiteline tranny bushing insert following that dude's guide
leave the rest on and eat the cost.. I am not so sure they'd replace shifter bushings if it turns out to be your tranny. springs probably will be lost |

Okay, thanks guys. So someone wrote up a guide specifically on removing the tranny bushing? I'll have to search around for that.
edit: Nevermind, I found the "5 min" install guide. Looks simple enough... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26411 |

Honestly I think I'm just going to remove the Perrin bushing as well, since it added a lot of NVH, mainly I suspect this whining sound when at low RPM's, which is annoying at highway speeds. Hopefully that isn't too much of a bitch to remove.

Son of a bitch... I completely forgot that I had the Perrin transmission support installed at the same time. Of course I didn't realize this until I was under the car, and had the bolt removed and the transmission jacked up a bit. It looked like too big of a job to tackle without a lift, so I'm just going to take it in to a shop to have them remove both at the same time. I was able to remove the shifter bushing at least, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
