That looks amazing...willing to bet it's going to be incredibly pricy though...

Even at the price of Cosworth... i'd go for it instead. Some Cossy owners may be depleased.

Like Jackson Racing, Edelbrock will be CARB legal. Both companies work extensively with OE and Motorsport markets so complete packaging (test proven, CARB legal) is their utmost importance.

Very interested to see how the Harrop stacks up against the competition. Looks great already!

that does look good
have they published any performance gains and prices yet?

and like the 335 sprintex do we think this will need a 'built' motor to avoid rods coming out the side?

It's going to depend on the size of the pulley turning it, just like the 335.

so you end up spinning a big blower slowly to avoid it heating up the charge, I suppose so there's some gain to be had there
thing is all of these big blowers will need a built motor to get the best out of them

This one is definitely interesting... curious to see how it would heat soak compared to one of the rotrex based kits though.

Using the TVS1320 is definitely good for people wanting to make more power. The issue though is for people looking to stay under say 300WHP you may be spinning the blower under its main efficiency range while dealing with more parasitic loss. The Cosworth TVS900 may be a better fit, all depends what you are after. More options is always better though.

I've posted this before but this is a dyno from KSR's TRD supercharger, which also used the TVS1320, almost identical in design to the Harrop. This is about 13PSI on 98 octane, 9.5:1 CR motor. I'll be interested to see what Harrop is getting out of them.

Yeah I can't find it anymore but I had another with it making about 352WHP, 278FT-LBs, just a tuning difference, same overall setup.

The Harrop is using a dual-pass radiator instead of a quad-pass like the Cosworth, looks like the same pump.

God I want this so bad, all of Harrop's stuff might as well be OEM quality... and price. It'll be well worth it though. Sign me up when it comes out.

I agree with your assessment of the TVS900 vs TVS1320. The real difference, however, is with the volumetric efficiency at low supercharger rpm. The slower the rpm, the lower the VE of the blower.

I modeled both the TVS900 and 1320 and the TVS900 makes more low end torque than the 1320 at the same boost. This is because the TVS900 is spinning faster than the 1320 at the same pressure ratio and is thus operating with a higher VE. That said, the 1320 does make slightly more upper mid-range torque than the 900, but the 900 wins in the area under the curve department.

Maxed out, the 900 should be able to hit right around 315whp if the system is designed well and the exhaust flows well. By that time, the investment is significant and most people would stop there. If you wanted more than what the TVS900 could accomplish, then the 1320 would be the way to go and the investment in built motor to handle the higher boost would be substantially higher which would rule out "most people". I don't think that the 1320 is a bad choice, but the sacrifice in low end torque (estimated to be around 20ft-lbs at 1500rpm and 14ft-lbs at 2,000rpm) may not offset the advantages of higher potential horsepower since few would choose to chase it.

That all said, my modeling was based on an unmodified Eaton case. When I was in talks with Magnuson, they suggested that their case designs have better VE than standard Eaton cases. Looking at your dyno graph, that is apparent since Magnuson more than likely designed the TRD case. So we'll just have to wait and see what Harrop and Edelbrock are able to do with these blowers.

Yes the TRD setup is 100% designed/built by Magnuson.
