Ptuning turbo kit issues

Heyhey

So Ive had my Ptuning Turbo kit for getting close to a year, last few weeks ive just noticed some issues. I emailed Ptuning but I am wondering if anyone else has any incite into the issues. So what im dealing with is every-time I get aggressive on the throttle the engine starts cutting, and I get a CEL flash on and off. Ive also noticed ive lost the ability to do launch control, which leads me to think it might be something in the tune? Any help would be appreciated.

If you're tuned by PTuning, then it sounds like the tune is trying to save your motor from disaster. Have you mechanically inspected anything under the hood yet? A CEL is your biggest indicator of a problem.

Visually inspecting is a good start, but more is needed. The tune is cutting throttle to save you, trust me on that one. Drive gingerly or if possible avoid driving all together until you get it inspected. If you do drive, monitor your AFR and Vacuum. At a minimum check your fluid levels.

So I just spoke with Ken at Ptuning, it would seem this is a known bug related to the cold and the fuel mapping. I guess its a simple patch and off ya go. They are still going to go through it but he knew what I describing right off.

so sure enough I just took my car for a test ride, Launch control is back and the car spools perfectly under hard acceleration. So a little heads up to those of you in a cold state with a ptuning tune! big thanks to Ken for being extremely helpful!

Glad to hear its not mechanical. I live in CA so I don't have any experience with cold - new news to me!

Ahhh that reminds me, I need to get a hold of them, I have that same problem sub 32 degrees, luckily the car has been in the garage all winter, so it's not like I missing any time with it anyway. This winter in the northeast is ridiculous, I can't even begin to explain the potholes we've got here... my winter vehicle is a Tundra and I have to be careful where I drive or the truck will get swallowed up, it's ridiculous.

Guess this is pretty common for anyone who drives in colder temps. I had the same issue a few months back, shortly after i had their water meth kit installed. Thought it was the traction control kicking in at first with the way the car was violently shuttering. The guys at Ptuning hooked me up and put me on the dino to try and figure it out. Had it happen again afterword and they talked to the guys at Ecutek. It ended up being a bug in the Ecutek software, causing a lean running condition around freezing weather conditions.
