Bought a cheap fake STi front lip/splitter off of eBay to try and mask the rash on my bottom bumper. Fitment was sh*t, polyurethane was poor, and to add insult to injury the lip wouldn't even cover the rash. Wasted $100 on something that I'm most likely giving away at a local meet or something. Now I just recently bought Password JDM's carbon front splitter since it looks like it covers the rash completely, hopefully it won't be complete sh*t.

PS: I know, I know... CF... but it adds ALL THE HP!

Let's be honest, are you surprised that your eBay lip fitment was shit? What were you actually expecting for $100 shipped, I assume?

I was expecting shit fitment, but not as bad as it was. Don't get me wrong, I knew that it was going to be bad and the saying "You get what you paid for" is 100% true here. But maybe it's because I'm an optimist I was hoping it'll be half decent. Also, yes it was $100 shipped.

LOL - I've got a $70 eBay lip in the garage waiting to go on!

I'm not expecting much for that price, but the only reason I want it on is to protect the nose from getting curb rash. Easier to toss a cheap lip than the bumper after hitting driveways. Having a nice CF lip on there would scare the crap out of me. Plus all the horsepowers.

Funny you mention that as I was cross shopping used Cayman S vehicles when I bought my FR-S.

I've spent the last several days looking at them again.

Getting tempted to test the waters on trading in.

In the back of my mind I keep telling myself to keep the FR-S and hold out for the mythical FT-1 that Toyota might produce. Told my sales lady (the one that sold my FR-S to me) that the second she gets word that deposits are allowed to call me. I'm afraid I am holding out for a goose to lay a golden egg though.

Don't give up hope! Although you never know until you put it on some of those cheap lips actually get pretty good reviews from the guys on here. @fatalelement has a great one for under $100!

No matter how many times I lube the bushings I still get noise from them, too stiff and large for my application in my opinion, paint coating on them seems really thin and cheap.

really interested on this, as well. I hear nothing but amazing things about Hotchkis setup... considering they used to be STRICTLY sways, intrigues me why people go with other offerings.. can see why people go with Whiteline as they're a cult following company
