Power folding mirror kits

Ok so I was reading my manual and noticed that there is a power folding mirror option (mainly for cars over seas), has anyone done this? and what is involved?

Thank Davf24

I have it on mine. It's a great option to have if you park in narrow parks all the time.

Because manually folding mirrors is such a tedious and exhausting thing to do..

Same could be said for power locks, windows, mirror adjust, etc.

Just because it isn't tedious to do doesn't mean there isn't a good reason to automate it.

To each their own I suppose; power locks, windows and mirror adjustment in my FR-S was a big step up for me from my other 'power-nothing' vehicle...wouldn't know what to do with myself if this vehicle had other more 'luxurious' features

Power mirrors aren't really considered a luxury feature in Japan and Europe, they are more like a necessity. America has some pretty big parking spots.

Ok so I see this is going in a totally different direction.

Again, what is involved, do you just purchase the control unit and plug it in or will I need to find power mirrors also???? It looks easy enough but I want to make sure Im not missing something here.

I had mine apart to install defroster/signal mirrors. There's no motor in there.

This saves you like an inch in width? Sorry but if me folding my mirror is preventing someone from hitting it then I dont want to park there anymore. To hit the mirror and not the car would be a near miss.

So the USDM car doesn't come with power folding?
In UAE the base version manual comes with power folding but with 16 inch rim and no digital speedo. LoL.

Anyway, I always keep my mirrors open when park. I believe this will create sense of awareness for the distance for other drivers. If it's too tight for me I will never park there anyway.

I can't imagine trying to drive the 86 with the analog speedo. In fact, most of the time I forget that it's there.

I use my power folding mirrors sometimes.
I'll park in any space I can find, especially when I'm in a hurry.
