So I got this, easy enough to place in. Without even driving yet went to take off due to my master cylinder brace came in. Long story short what's the trick to removing? Pulled every which way like a mad gorilla and seems the two points where it bolts to the strut studs is literally wedged onto those bolts??

I installed the master cylinder brace obviously without removing the hotchkis strut tower brace but... I can see more cursing the day I actually need to remove this brace...

That AEM with incorporated brace looks "simpler" Ahhh well seems my patience is my enemy sometimes ...
Hi OICU812,

The strut tower brace should remove just as easy as is installing. Is the vehicle on level ground?

Yes of course level etc... Don't really get it. Not in panic to remove it just found it odd. Just hopefully when I do need to that it won't be too big of a fight lol.

Could someone measure the clearance from the top of the intake manifold to the brace?

You can try wrapping the ac line in mesh and zip tying it. (I got that from reading the Grimmspeed strut bar installation thread)

Also, I'm surprised this one is so cheap. It looks real good.

Question

I found a great price on Amazon 41% off @ $147.26
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Hotchkis-20445-Strut-Tower-Brace/dp/B009P4KRNW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1420313377&sr=8-9&keywords=hotchkis+brace"]Amazon.com: Hotchkis 20445 Strut Tower Brace for Scion FR-S: Automotive[/ame]

Anyone have issues with the holes not lining up? This is according to the reviews.

The AEM unit fits with the blocks, but just barley. I would prefer to have the hotchkis.....

Can anyone grab a tape measure and check?

1/4" maybe 3/8" to the cover (with Subaru/Toyota). Not sure how much you gain by removing that cover.

Reading through amazon reviews I found one claiming this bar induced a lot of body roll and understeer. A front strut bar should decrease both roll and understeer while not increasing oversteer though, so I'm confused.

Anyone here notice worse body roll and understeer?

None whatsoever. What a silly review.
