Although trying to keep the top end from tappering to 14psi from 6700 to redline was a bit hard, with the stock air box limiting the turbo. I might be wrong in comparing these to turbos but Paul ( @AVOturboworld ) can correct me if I am wrong. With the billet wheel offered in the Stg 2 it should help the top end a bit to give you more power. I highly suggest getting an Intake to allow the turbo to breath better to yield better results. I can't wait to get my new dyno tune in the upcoming months from ( @DeliciousTuning ).
Wow! 419 whp from the AVO Kit...that is mad

Another ~400rwhp AVO kit confirmation in TX. 398hp/322tq at 1 bar on E85. AVO kit and Perrin intake IIRC. Pretty sure it was a 3" exhaust, but I forget. His torque curve was the deciding factor to turn my boost up finally (not an AVO kit).

When this AVO kit owner came in and said he was expecting around 400rwhp we were all pretty skeptical since the other AVO kits we've gotten in were pump fuel and stock fuel pump. Didn't think the turbo had it in it, but it certainly does.

No sir! I drove on the 16psi map for 5k miles daily with no issues. I even did 13 passes at the local drag strip. Had issues with oil getting to hot in the tranny and trying to keep traction through 3rd gear. But that was it.

Installed my kit his past weekend. How much oil from the breather tube that connects to the AVO oil reservoir gets into the intake? How important is it to have this connected to a catch can?

If you're going to track this kit, or at least keep the revs over 5k for an extended period of time, your oil reservoir will overfill and splash excessing oil into the intake tube. I had this problem, when I was tracking the first time. I've installed the AVO breather tank and now it's gone.

Besides: a catch can is already in NA applications a good idea, since the FA20 has quite a lot of blowby.

Hey everyone, quick question:
Is anyone having an issue with the stock bov for around $120? I looked, but there is no info in it anywhere. I'm assuming it's full recirculation, but I'm curious if anyone is having issues with boost leaking. I'm trying to see the advantage in getting the adjustable BOV for around $250. Vta is not an advantage.

Yes that bov is fully recirculating. It's a Bosch type, very similar (if not identical) to the OEM Mitsubishi Evo valves.

If you don't care about venting to atmosphere I would go with the standard BOV and save the money.

AVO Turbo Kit Owners Topic

Has anybody else encountered oil leaks with this kit? I've encountered minor oil leaks from behind cam plate, cam plate cover that's under the ecu and above the turbo heat shield, and also around the oil pan :[

I'm not blaming it on the kit or anything, I am just curious if anybody else encountered this. I did recently changed my oil to a 5w30.. Maybe that could be the cause?

I haven't had any leaks as of yet. I'm at 20k miles and 18k with the turbo and haven't had an issue. I'm still using 0W-20 with my 400+hp application. I dont see any reason why to go to something thicker just yet. From my understanding theirs not enough clearences to go with something thicker either without experiencing sometype of issues. Again if you have a good oil that keeps its visocity levels at high temps then you should have no issues with 0w-20. I use Purol as my choice of motor lubricants.
