Auto Detailing/ Paint protection stuff

Hey I looked around but was not able to find a thread on this, basically I would like to get my car detailed paint waxed, etc since I saw some paint swirls and today got a maple tree take a dump http://www.ft86club.com/forums/images/smilies/barf.gif of leafs and red pollen that made a mess of my white paint. Anyway, I washed the car even though it's raining had neighbors looking at me like wtf but I still see some residue of the pollen.

Now to my question, where do you guys take your cars to get the paint detailed? also maybe if you could talk to the prices? weather forecast says there should be no decent days in the near future but still I would like to start looking as it would be my treat to my ride since it has treated me so well for the past year.

I detail but I'm pretty busy at the moment but paramount details does great work it's in fremont

any insight into what to expect price wise? i know you get what you pay for but want to have an idea of what is more or less reasonable

It really depends what you want paint correction can range anywhere from $150-300 that will probably have a sealant and wax to protect the paint, light paint correction probably 150-250 and a major paint correction could be $300-400 it really depends on the condition of your paint if it's badly swirled that means it will take a longer time to correct so it will cost more.

If this is your daily I would recommend a light polish with a sealant and you will be good

it's not that bad swirls are only noticeable when I'm being an ass and shining light at weird angles, past that you hardly even notice. thanks man what are the best sealants out there as far as you know, sorry about the noob questions i never cared enough for the paint of my previous car but this car looks way too nice to have a shitty paint condition.

You should look into a paint coating. Opti-Coat or CQuartz or something along that line. I assume your car is toward the newer end. Maybe just get your car detailed and paint corrected and then have a paint coating installed.

I don't know anyone in the area that installs either, but if you are interested, I'll ask my friends and see who they recommend.

Skip the waxes and sealants and go straight to paint coatings.

Here are my thoughts on why I think coatings are a good way to go.

1) Coatings are more durable. Waxes are good for like what? 3 months? Sealants? 6 months. With a coating, you are looking at like 2 years.

2) Coatings are usually scratch/element resistant. = extra protection

3) Coatings are usually hydrophobic and make it easier to wash and keep your car clean.

I figure you coat your car and be good for like two years.

From an established and legitimate business (brick and mortar, some type of accreditation, and insurance). Expect $50-$75 an hour. More for someone who more sought after or busy.

Opti-Coat

OptiCoat Pro or OptiPro (can only be installed by authorized installers)
OptiCoat 2.0 (consumer version but has been discontinued)
GlossCoat (newly released consumer version available at most detailing supplies retailers)

CQuartz
======

CQuartz Finest (can only be installed by authorized installers)
CQuartz (consumer version available at most detailing supplies retailers)
CQuartz UK (consumer version available at most detailing supplies retailers)

Yea I know there's different tiers, and they're all great, now he just needs to find a detailer who offers these coatings...

Detail maniac in Sac for sure has cquartz last time i came by.

reading this i remember that when i bought the car the dealer installed a complimentary paint sealant. the company or package was portfolio express car care premium protection. anyone ever heard of this. I know it was from dealer so quality is most likely crap. I will research tomorrow places that have the above paint sealers. thanks for the info. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/image...es/thumbup.gif
