Received a numer of parts I ordered...My to do list begins with: completing my BU camera install, Diode Dynamic tail light blinker mod, iJDMToy 4th Brake light mod. I will be painting or powder coating my Cusco parts anodized red to match my theme as well as the factory strut braces. Sometime soon I'll get to the coilovers install.
Hope to complete the electronics installs/mods this weekend... 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) |

![]() Came up with this logo... more of a draft really because I'm not 100% convinced with it. For now I will use it though. The design ties into the logo for a Tshirt line I'm working on... plan on using my modified 86 to cross-promote. My Tshirt line's designs will be geared towards fitness, cars, and miltaristic/warrior themes. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) Last edited by zeal86; 11-06-2014 at 05:43 PM. |

Just returned from SoCal and had some parts waiting on me. Waiting on a few others still...going to have my Cusco stuff powder coated an anodized red color as well as a few other engine brackets and braces. Going to polish some of the aluminum in the engine bay too. I love a sharp looking engine bay!

Backup Camera Install
__________________________________________ I Finished up on my backup camera install today. I had a bit of trouble getting pin 2 on the 28 pin harness to seat correctly. Ended up using needle nose pliers and an insertion tool used in the avionics industry to do the trick. After completing that, it was a matter of testing the camera before drilling into the trunk garnish. I drilled two holes in order to secure the camera wire harness with a small zip tie. This is to eliminate stress on the wires. Used elephant snot to protect against moisture. ![]() ![]() This is how I routed the camera wire harness into the trunk lid. I went through the opening where the lone fastener was located. (the alternative route was to follow the trunk release button wire harness.) ![]() Used an RCA cap as a grommet with elephant snot to protect against moisture. ![]() Finished product! ![]() Night pic of reverse camera view. ![]() I went with the Roadshop SCIHD1401 backup camera kit I found on eBay http://m.ebay.com/itm/261598117660?_mwBanner=1 over the BeatSonic option because I preferred the OEM quality camera. The camera really is built well. I also liked how the accessory power wire was part of the video line which makes running the wires easier. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) Last edited by zeal86; 01-27-2015 at 07:38 PM. |

Reverse Light Assembly Delete Mod
__________________________________________ Removed my OEM reverse lights and filled the opening with an OEM quality ABS grille. I still have to secure it but for now this what it looks like. ![]() I will post better pictures later. If anyone is interested in information about the grille and or the dimensions of the grille just ask. I will also post the method in which I will secure the grille. By the way, I have the Diode Dynamics tail as turn mod so my reverse lights are located where my OEM turn signals once were. 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) Last edited by zeal86; 01-27-2015 at 07:39 PM. |

Ok.. so this is how I secured the grille to the opening where the OEM reverse lights/reflector onced occupied.
Used OEM clips plus two bigger ones I had laying around from my 350Z days to secure brackets. Fits nice and snug! ![]() Ended up heat shrinking all the brackets to protect against corrosion and to conceal them better. ![]() ![]() - Drilled a second hole to keep bracket from rotating. Used OEM clips to secure. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wrapped OEM reverse light connectors in sandwich bags then 3M electrical tape and secured with zip ties. ![]() 2014 6-speed Monogram (37J) Last edited by zeal86; 03-15-2015 at 11:11 PM. |
