Agreed. If they're on the lot and the buyer is ready you might as well hand it over IMO.

Honestly, being a first 86er, i doubt we're gonna get the special badge, i think they have some serious logistical issues with their dealers and communication is NOT their forte.

The exclusivity was part of the first 86 charm, but I think at this point most of us just want the damn car...if they want my car to sit there for a week so they can ship a badge to the dealer to glue on, i will forgo the badge too haha

Badge/decal..

It sounded like it would come later, they were working on some ideas, asked our input and would be sent/installed later since things were already in the works to get us our cars.

Def something is better than a nothing and it was clear we wanted something and they took note

On the trip it sounded that--like most of the add-on accessories--the special badging (or whatever it turns out to be) wouldn't be available until after the cars are actually released. I remember them saying that they'd send us the badging w/ mounting instructions some undetermined time after we'd already received our cars.

They also have our direct contact information. If they won't be adding it on at port/dealer, then they'll likely just mail it directly to us rather than jumping through the hoops going through the dealer middle-man.

Hey guys, glad you liked my photos. I am gonna head back over to the port in a week or so to snap some more. The shipment had just arrived so every FR-S was scattered throughout thousands of other cars, but as the dockworkers rearrange the lot I am sure that there will a large group of FR-S's together.

I'm not a First-86er, but I was the first in Portland to place a deposit on an FR-S outside of that group. One of those Asphalt 6MT models has my name on it and I am hoping to wriggle my way into a tour of the port facility so I can document how they process the car and hopefully will be able to sit in my car before June 1st!

Please do this, and sport a mustache. It will add to the disguise.

Awesome job though.

Just talked to my Scion salesman and he is totally out of the loop. Says that there are no cars in Portland, haha.

Thanks Hawaiian, still confused why my profile was shunted, but looks like things are fixed.

At this point I'd settle for a VIN and a delivery date.

Dadhawk, if you are having issues try emailing/calling a few of the managers at your chosen dealership, see what they have to say. I got great results with that. Still no VIN though...
