Is the "I'll be there momentarily" common usage there?

Most other differences are spelling or jargon but this is a completely different use of the same word.
It depends on the phrasing. I'll be there momentarily is future tense, so the result is I will get there shortly. Here at least, we use momentarily in both present and future tense.

I'm with OP. Nothing bothers me more on automotive forums than people saying fitment. I don't even care if its correct, it just sounds annoying.

I never hear "be there momentarily." Granted I live in Alabama and everyone runs 30 minutes late everywhere they go...

The irritation comes from when it usually comes up, which is normally children who want to know how to get the edge of their tire fitmented to the fenders, and can be bothered to use a ruler and do some basic math for 30 seconds

Well, heck "flush" is misused then too, since almost the entire tire and wheel is sticking out below the top of the fender opening. I literally had to ask a guy with a "stanced" Honda, what "stance", "fitment" and "flush" meant, because his car didn't seem to fit any of those terms as I interpreted them, lol.

Then again, the word "billet" is misused in the automotive world too...

We speak 'merican here, not english.
