Installed some Sound Deadening!

Put some Sound Deadening material in the trunk of the 86! Was actually a lot easier than I thought!

Watched this video earlier(I've subbed already). Watching this made me consider getting back into video production, still considering it.

notice a big difference in exhaust sound? I feel like my car gets really noisy on the highway when i'm at speeds of 70+ so I'm rather interested in doing some sound deadening.
For reference I have a Perrin CAI and Catback, both of the 2.5" variant.

How hard's it to remove the liners? That's what I'm most paranoid about. Some shop is going to charge me 500 for the doors and another 500 or so for the trunk :/

Thanks!

Very easy, using a flathead screwdriver you can pop out the center of the pins and they pull right out. You can pull up the styrofoam underneath very easy as well, just slowly pulling up on it will make it pop out. When I did this it took me about 15 minutes to fully pull apart the trunk.

In regards to noise difference it made some, however I think the best improvement for me was from doing the trunk lid. I also think it would be more effective to just put a piece of MLV on the underside of the carpet piece, I have heard good things about that, and it takes much less time!

I wouldn't expect night and day if you are doing just this. It is good for deadening vibrations and such but for actual noise from exhaust or the road you will need more mass which can be extremely time intensive (talking from experience) and adds weight.

why do people try to be so perfect with dynamat? I slap that shit on there

and the adds weight comment: lol.

5-10lbs maybe. could save more weight by filling up with 1 less gallon of gas every time at the tank

Dynomat is not for reducing exhaust noise etc I don't know why people still haven't sorted that in mind as of yet??... Anyhooooo... There are far more specifically / superior designed MLV products for exterior road noise/ exhaust. Check out zero noise webby to see more specifics.
