They did much more than grease mine I believe. They had to take the whole transmission out to fix it apparently. I'd play it safe and just let them fix it for you. I don't think it's something you can just grease and be done with it. They had my car for over a week.

spoilers: that's not going to stop the squeak.

Don't know if it's the same, My clutch pedal is making a click at the begining of it's stroke. Sounds to be coming from the Clutch cylinder

I had the same problem and they used grease, which fixed it for a little, but it came right back. They just recently replaced the clutch fork and that seemed to get rid of it—at least for now. I have heard of other people on the nasioc forum having the clutch fork replaced on their WRX and that seemed to fix the problem for them as well. I hope that helps.

Got the sqeakey noise with crunchy pedal feel during the last inch or two before clutch is fully depressed. Pretty disappointing for a 25k mile car considering I never hard launch and always sit in N at lights.

Assuming it needs more than a lube job what are my chances of getting the shift fork (or whatever needs to be) replaced under warranty with a rear tranny mount and whiteline insert?

Edit: going in today so I'm about to find out

We greased/lubed up the clutch fork and input shaft really well and all noises went away.

I went there asking them to lube the shift fork because of what I read on this forum. They made me wait 3 hours and said it's something "internal" so they can't just lube it. Said they'll contact toyota then get back to me. They called a few days later telling me that toyota doesn't know what's causing it yet so bring it in for a lubing (which they wouldn't do the first time I asked).

Instead of taking it back I raised my clutch pedal so that it's now barely higher than the brake pedal. The noise went away and I haven't gone back to the dealer yet.

Hi Folks, I picked up my brand new BRZ 10 days ago, and shifting from 1st to 2nd is a bit rough and there is a clanking noise. .....
From 3rd to fourth is very smooth and all other shifting is ok.... I just sent an e-mail to my sales guy to see what he recommends. In the meantime, what do you guys recommend?

I had this sound:
[ame]http://youtu.be/Xu8cEgt6_eY[/ame]

and got my throw-out bearing replaced. sound is completely gone and the crunchy feeling at the bottom of the clutch is also gone. get it taken care of while you have the warranty.
