Hehe, well everything is expensive in Norway, especially stuff for cars..

But yeah ordered the following : TRD body kit, TRD SF2 forged rims, TRD adjustable springs, TRD start button, TRD sport exhaust, TRD shift knob, TRD doorstability thing, JBL soundsystem, and some other stuff..

But yeah, I also didn't pay full price though...

You would have car about 100lbs lighter and ready to track right out of the box.
You can expect that spec around roughly $35~$40k

Also as for GPS data logger, Japanese 86 already have it. Tada-san have already talking with Gran Turismo crew about this since '10 (iirc). I'm pretty sure someone can post a vid on what I'm talkig bout (currently out & posting this through my phone).

Unless Subaru gonna do massive re-engineering, BRZ won't be seeing FI & I'm not talking about the engine, but whole under the hood, suspension designing, engine location, hood scoop, trans, & lists just goes on & on

This most likely is just the new wing and handling upgrades that I think they discussed when Tada first announced the speculated upgrades.

Because it's the internet. People comment more when they want improvements. That is just the way it is. There are plenty of people who are happy, but don't post "I am happy."

In a way, your comment proves the rule - you posted because you are unhappy with other people being unhappy

Part of that effect is that there are lots of different people online. Some of those people will be happy to pay more for the power upgrades. Others will complain. People who are complaining tend to post more, so it often looks like "everyone" is complaining.

What some of us are asking for is the *option* to pay for a higher spec version, just like the Z06 Corvette, the GT3 911, the M BMWs. We are not asking for everyone to pay more.

Speaking for myself, I am happy to pay $$38K for a tS-spec car with a 2.5L motor. I already have a classic (which I intend to keep), so the only next step up in a new sports car would be a Corvette or a Cayman. I have already owned the 370Z and found it to be too heavy. I think it's a hole in the market that could probably generate a few thousand sales per year, and it would get press that would be good marketing for Toyota and the base model 86, leading to more sales overall.

You would probably sell very few of these. Not enough to justify the cost. These cars are what they are, an inexpensive little sports car. I don't think Toyota would spend the money developing and testing the parts(and making sure they are durable enough for a factory warranty) for the very few who can afford to buy one of these cars as a dedicated track car. They'll just leave it up to the aftermarket to supply those parts and not have to deal with the headache of warrantying "Ricky Racer"....

I personally like the power as is. only upgrades I plan to make to this car over the years are handling improvements. I hope the improvements focus on that, an upgraded suspension etc would be ideal for me. Even if I do upgrade the engine its staying N/A. What is the obsession with turbos anyway? they're peaky and lag. to be honest, I still think half the people that complain about the power have never driven one.. I also don't understand why people care so much about torque, But then again i'm a rotary guy..

Just so that everyone clear, I've asked my wife to translate the original message:
According to her, Tada has written that their goal for the new project is to evolve the 86, but at the same time they are also working so that owners of current model 86 can benefit from this evolution.

I wonder what that can be... so when the new stuff arrive we can bring our older model 86 to have the same upgrade?
