would be interested to see if new wheels and tails look good-- could be viable replacement mods instead of going aftermarket

Even if it didn't go up because of the refresh it would just go up due to inflation. I am sure it all depends on what they do though. My guess would be if it's mainly cosmetic changes than no but if there is a new engine or turbo then it will likely jump considerably.

But again wtf do I know lol

Hm... this is my speculation & not official.

Price will go up, but not as much as member thinks. I see it as, like '13 model vs '14 model price difference annually cost will go up to certain point.

I would like to see if they change the front and backs styling at all or drop the weight a little

yeah. that's what i think too. Inflation + because they can.
Look at the GTR's!, but then again each year the power increased a ton.

they first need to milk the trd/sti version of the current model lineup.

2015 models will be the trd/sti versions with cosmetic enhancements and bolt on accessories.

then the 2016 models will be the refresh.

OMG, GT-R got hardcore inflation. '08 it was around $80k. Now it's over $100k right?

...but 86's goal & GT-R's goal are totally different, so I don't think we need to worry bout that crazy inflation.

Agree, the philosophy of the FR-S/BRZ/GT86 is:

1) Light
2) Cheap
3) FR sports car

It's imperative however the car evolves, that it remains those three things.

That's incredible when you think about it. Nissan only sold 251,410 240sx's from 1989-1998

So I'd say Scion / Toyota / Subaru are off to a pretty good start

I know, what happened to the No Turbos or Cabriolets because of LOW sales numbers? I don't get it!

I mean seriously, who the hell gave this the green light? If this can make it into production, why is Toyota / Subaru having such a hard time with a turbo'd FR-S / BRZ

Even if it cannibalizes some of the current FR-S/BRZ sales, they will still come out on top.

Look at what Hyundai did with the Veloster and Veloster Turbo, there are still people that buy the NAV despite a turbo option being available

It's hard to compare apples to oranges. Plus, first-year S13 sales was around 60-70K IIRC, and it tanked fast after that. First year S14 sales was around 25K.

In the US.

Well, Alex I'm not sure if that includes that 200SX's in the UK and Silvia's in Japan. But those first year sales of the S13 were incredible (68K units) IIRC

I think the cabriolet had the structure issue and Subaru doesn't want to build it, so Toyota is looking for places elsewhere to build it the last time I was following the news ( it's on the forum search for FT86 open). As for the Turbo, again I'm gonna have to point to Subaru, this is because despite what Toyota may want, if they don't' build it we don't get it, well that's the sentiment at the moment.
