Rental car options
I'm devastated. I was hit by a deer last night and my brz is out of commission right now. Bringing her to the body shop mon morning but prob won't see it back for 3-4 weeks due to the holidays. Any one have any ideas on rental car options? Insurance won't pay for the rental because like an idiot, I didn't purchase rental reimbursement. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg because frankly I can't afford it right now with the holiday credit card bill that's approaching.
On another note, I had the xpel clear bra on the entire front end. Will insurance cover this? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks |

read your policy regarding after market parts added onto your vehicle. Depending on your policy it may or may not be covered. I know a few insurance companies that I've worked with, they only cover up to $1000 in after market parts. As far as rental reimbursement goes, I would just rent the cheapest car you can get. Just something to get around, usually Enterprise around my area is cheaper than others. |

Enterprise was the cheapest in my area (North SF Bay Area) at $20 a day.

For aftermarket parts, it will vary per insurance company. Most insurance companies would need you to "insure" the aftermarket part.
I would recommend enterprise as well. |

Yea they are out of control. It literally ran across 4 lanes of traffic. Didn't even come from a wooded area. |

Did the deer have coverage? If so, insist that his (or her) insurance pay for a rental.

Wow, isn't rental coverage like $30 a year?
Any who, it doesn't matter which big rental company you go to because they can manually adjust your rental rate. Like a lot of things in life, the cost of your rental is negotiable. I'm not sure what weekly rates are like, but you can just go up to the counter and say that you're getting your car worked on, are only getting reimbursed $25 a day, and ask if they can work with you on that. Standard rate is $30-35 in MA through insurance and this has always worked for me. |
