How much PSI are you going to run with the turbo? And what do you have for brakes now? The car looks, sounds and runs great! What about rear axles and trans cooler.. have or planning?

Mike
The supercharger will run around 9psi with the stock pulley. I have the stock brakes for now with just a brake pad upgrade. I'll see after the shakedown if I really need a BBK. If not, maybe just another brake pad upgrade for the front and rear. I'll have to see if the stock tranny cooler can handle it, if not I'll have to get the SSP kit. Rear axles will change if they break.

Tye, I am still watching over your build. Those bushings are hard to install, a serious and hardcore modification, kudos for being very brave.

Excited on the super charger install.

Btw, I did not notice those silver buttons. Mas meticulous ka sakin!

Thanks bro. I've had experience with poly bushings on my previous cars so I already know what to expect. These things help a lot if you track your car. Baka mas OCD lang ako sayo. Haha!

Up next will be the Vortech build. Hopefully the car's driving balance would be more enhanced than upset with this mod. Install and tuning should be done this week, and I'm planning to do a video on the shakedown run to also done at CIS. Until next time!

Coming soon:

Vortech Supercharger Install and Dyno Tune (12-15-13)

The time has come to choose. Stay NA? Or go FI? I was really torn between the two because partly I was pretty happy with the performance and drivability of the car on the track. Yet I always come back to the power factor of the car being disappointing. So I decided to bite the bullet and install a supercharger.

I went with a supercharger because I felt that it would help more on the track than a turbo. I wanted a smooth power delivery that would compliment the car. I went with the Vortech kit because of the great oem look and reputation. I thought about the Innovate kit, but the lack of an intercooler at the time swayed me. I had Speedworks do the install and tune, and they did a superb job.

Installation had no drama, the kit was complete and the fit was perfect. Glad to see @Dezoris work out with Vortech the kinks of the first gen kits which trickled down to the later ones, thus perfecting the kit.

Ryan and Chris of Speedworks did the Ecutek tuning. End result was 270whp with 199tq, which pretty much made us all happy. This was done with stock injectors and stock fuel pump with the 9psi pulley on 93(equivalent) octane.

Driving the car the first time was an eye opener as to how much power was added. Wheels spin like crazy if you're not careful with the throttle. I can't give a detailed assessment because I've only driven it on the street, not on the track. I will give a detailed report after our trackday this week. I really hope that this would not disrupt the balance of the car at the track.

this is a great build for many reasons. Its good for those with auto trans to see the effects of tracking and now FI.

Personally Id like you to link me to your track logs on oil temps and coolant temps now that you are running Vortech. My car is probably one of the lowest HP Vortech setups for track reliability but want to bump it this year after seeing more running higher HP more safely. Would love to see UOA as well if possible after your time attacks.

Great to see a guy modding to track and not just show off.

Great build! Pls.do share with us about the driveability with it on track. Im also on the fence on doing a turbo setup or a supercharger. I dont go to the track that often so im leaning more for turbo. I've also read some supercharger builds having a lag as well in the lower rpms and also turbos starting to build boost pretty early. Hope i can get good advice on which way to go

Thanks @Dezoris! I just want to thank you for the videos you made and the effort to fine tune the vortech kit for us on the other side of the world. Your vids helped me decide on the vortech kit rather than the innovate. We also kept going back to your vids during the install as the instructions were quite vague picture wise.
I'll keep you posted on the temps on the track when we shake it down this wednesday. I don't have the means to log because I don't have a cable, but I'll note the temps from my gauges.
