I read somewhere since gt4 from gtplanet that the dull AI is actually on purpose for the greater part of the game. The game main content is about the challenge between driver and the track, making it a driving sim and not a racing sim. For the most part of missions, you treat cars as if they were moving cones since plenty of the requirements to complete those missions were just to pass them.

Yeah I actually read that as well but if I want to see how well I can do on a track then Ill just do a time trial. When Im racing id at least like the other cars to be aware of my presence and not bash into me when Im passing in a corner lol.

BTW my PSN name is LeatherFace3318 if anyone wants to add me

It's not always about money, it's about development cycles and difficulty of porting code to a platform.. so..

Exactly. There's a significant difference between the two consoles. Deciding the game would be on PS4 would require a lot of rewrite. Some assets could be salvaged, but you might as well be starting over at 50% at that point, and the game will show for it in the end too.

The PS4 is much closer to a PC in terms of its x86 architecture (Xbox One as well, except the ESRAM actually makes it harder to code for.) So that being said, development cycles will actually require less time for new games. And when you have a company churning out games, you can bet that while they're putting effort into the current release, there's at least a small group in the background at least prepping for the next before 6 was released. Rumors are already spreading that GT7 will be released on PS4 in 2014, but I suppose a "worst case" scenario is that we get a streaming version of it with Gaikai.

So, just to see what it was like and so I could race an FR-S I rented the game from Red Box and I've learned one main thing about how I drive from playing this game. I race like a maniac.

Does anyone else really like driving the FT concepts? I wish they were a thing in real life.

Add some down force with a spoiler, get the fully custom suspension and as some toe, get the fully custom LSD and add more braking sensitivity

Is anyone else just not impressed with this game? I really feel like this game is just like a GT5+. I usually play new GT games for days and hours when they first come out. This one I played for the first few days and kind of just stopped. IDK maybe its just me, but I'm having a hard time getting into this one.

Me too.

With no meaningful career I'm having trouble getting into this. I just buy a car, obliterate the terrible AI, rinse and repeat.

Also what's with the lack of standing starts? This game is basically "chase the guy who's significantly slower than you but gets a half a lap head start".
