The thought of this made me chuckle.

I'm going to go run over some pedestrians today. For science!

Anyone have any numbers to compare this to the Beatrush front bumper beam?

Which would be ideal for pedestrian plowing?

Benefit of the beatrush from quick observation is you can still use the front tow hook.

Does anyone know if this crash bar will fit on the BRZ?

I know the front ends are slightly different.

Wow I didn't know people on this forum were so passionate about bumper engineering.

It's just the front bumper/headlight shape. The mounting points for the crash bars on the frame should not be any different.

Thanks. I'm assuming it will fit my BRZ. I know the mounting points are the same, but was wondering about the front bumper area, whether the BRZ and FRS bumpers were different enough so that this crash bar might not exactly fit my BRZ.

I know the BRZ and FRS bumpers are slightly different, so was just asking about it before I bought this crash bar.

@Cessblood, here is a picture of mine from my build thread. 1.75 DOM tubing TIG welded to 1/8 gusseted mounting plates. The intercooler will mount to it and I will work out a way to incorporate the factory tow hook. I had something identical on my STI, never had to use it in an accident but it worked for what I needed it to do.

The point of this bar is to 1) protect FMIC and other exposed components between bumper and frame in a modified car, and 2) offer a way to support bumper.

It is not meant as an on-road replacement of the front crash beam/bumper support.

Anyone that has put a FMIC onto a car and cut the front bumper support, would know the benefits of this.

yeah I cant say I had pedestrians in mind, Im pretty good at not hitting them. However my steel beam is no harder then the factory steel beam. I think the pedestrian contact argument is pretty pointless, I would still rather be hit by this then my F350.

And yes mine is clearly done in the interest of intercooler incorporation. The bumper does not mount to the bar at all, same as the factory piece.

Lol @ the pedestrian argument.
Speaking of, I had to dodge a drunken pedestrian not long ago. I unfortunately dodged him into a tree. 4k in damage for repairs, and insurance doubled. Not fun.

you guys are blowing this way out of proportion.
I have been building crawlers and trail rigs for years. we swap out stock bumpers for tubing all the time, and i promise ours are way stouter than this piece of tubing.
I have never seen anyone get in legal trouble due to running aftermarket bumpers.

Thanks for the picture. Your set up looks nice.
