Battery life with the wi-fi is horrible.
I always carry 3 extra batteries with me for ONE track day. My last gopro...I was good with one battery.
Something doesn't sound right with yours. Try updating yours to the latest firmware via the GoPro website.

My Hero 3 White edition has performed well for almost a year. You should try using a faster microSD card. I use a 32gb Class 10 from Sandisk and it works great.

Lastly I'd recommend the Wasabi Power batteries and charger. I can squeeze almost 60 minutes of 1080P/30FPS recording out of one battery with wifi turned on.

Yeah, tried updating firmware = black edition.
Have the newest updated app.
I have the 64gb class 10 sandisk.
I also record at 1080/30fps. I'll try those batteries, if I need more...lol
I already carry 4 batteries, which gets me by a track day...

Another epic weekend at the track comes to an end.

The car ran great with E85 but was a bitch to cold start in the 35 degree and 45 degree mornings. Switched back to pump gas after burning through all the E85 I brought and was consistently 5mph slower into 10A from the back straight. No lap times or data to share here but the car was consistently faster everywhere than last time with the new power and aero mods.

The diffuser worked well to improve grip and I actually saw the car pictured squatting a bit at the end of the back straight at 125mph before braking with it set for maximum rake/downforce. My RCE Yellow springs were probably a bit too soft for all that downforce. Fixed that by adjusting it up a little to a less aggressive angle of attack.

The photos will take a few weeks to be organized, processed and uploaded for me by the photographer but they are awesome as usual.

I have lots of GoPro footage to review and upload as well. Too exhausted to start all that tonight.

Time for a beer!

I am not all that familiar with diffusers, but pushing the sway bar mounting location as far up as it goes is the least aggressive setting whereas mounting it as low as possible is more aggressive?

I believe so. @Wonderbar may want to clarify. The lowest setting brings the flat leading edge nearly to the point where it's "digging in" to the air under the car, which creates the most downforce on the top side, hence my car squatting at 125mph. Stiffer rear suspension and/or a functional front splitter would fix that but pushing the mounting tabs up, bringing the leading edge up and the entire diffuser to a less aggressive angle fixed the excessive squatting at max speed. It's likely creating a bit less downforce at high speed when it's adjusted all the way up.

I'm likely going to wait and see what Driveway Labs end up with for a front splitter to balance out the aero front and rear. I did not have any issues with handling at all. The diffuser did not bring ANY ill effects at any setting. I asked someone in my run group who was following me a couple times down the back straight and they did not see any movement from the diffuser.

You were getting squat at 125??!!?

You are spot on for diffuser theory, the steeper the angle, the more downforce generated, the flatter the angle, less downforce but also less drag.

As evidenced by a few of the photos I saw briefly at the photographer's booth on Saturday before ordering them. It was not nearly as bad as it sounds, though. I wasn't close to bottoming out and I couldn't feel it from the driver's seat, but I did go ahead and adjust it up to about the middle of the slots first thing Sunday morning. Went back to the photo booth to check mid-day Sunday and it wasn't pictured squatting at all except for certain corners when the weight was transferred back there.

Got a couple sessions uploaded from this past weekend at Road Atlanta. This time I mounted the microphone in the trunk with the back seats up, clipped to the carpet right behind the driver's side tail light.

Still managed to capture some wind noise, but it's right above the muffler so the exhaust note is pretty crisp back there. Enjoy the music from the header at sustained wide open throttle!

Saturday afternoon with E85, diffuser set for max downforce.

ROOF CAM, Sunday afternoon, back on pump 93 octane gas, diffuser set for medium downforce.
Some really cool clouds and sunlight peeking through them during this session.

Burning up the last of the E85 on Sunday morning in my longest session of the weekend. I got a few clean hot laps in this one.

I roughly calculated a 1:53.2 around the 10 minute mark and a 1:52.5 on my stopwatch towards the end (@King Tut)

I was out there having fun as always, keeping in mind that I was driving the car home at the end of the day. Driving around 7 to 8 tenths to keep it shiny side up and lifting for almost all the point-by's I gave. I didn't hear the tires much at all in this footage so there's definitely more speed to be had especially through the esses and turns 6 and 7.

Definitely more speed to be had. I like comparing the NA BRZ times to my SpecE30 times, and we run in the mid 40s at Road Atlanta. I will watch your videos tonight.

So have you scraped your diffuser yet? I drove to my parents house for the first time today, and I scraped one of the fins a little on the way in the driveway, but I scraped the fuck out of it leaving the driveway. I ended up scraping up 4 of the fins and bent the furthest outboard one on the passenger side. I guess bcuzracecar even though I never scrape with my SpecE30.
