I found my son a deal on a slightly used TRD catback for $300. It is the USDM version with the D shaped tips. It has a nice low growl at WOT, no highway drone and is slightly louder than stock at idle with a great sounding burble. It is a great, high quality exhaust but no way would I pay $1500 for it. If you can get one for $700-$800 then go for it.

Get the Berk muffler delete, which I am ordering at the end of the month. $300 and way more worth it, in my opinion. good luck.

Well you could get the overpipe, frontpipe and the cat back for 1500. Unless they used titanium otherwise it is not worth the money.

My 10 came with the trd exhaust and I love it just like that. Coming from a cbr600rr with a full exhaust which still gave me headaches even with ear-plugs, I definitely appreciate the lower volume during my commute. I also don't need the attention of an obnoxiously loud exhaust.

Now if only Akrapovic made a system for us

I have a TRD exhaust and I love mine. If your dealership wants $1500 for it though, slap them in the face. They shouldn't be charging you more than $400 over MSRP.

Akrapovic (insert drooling smiley here) would be pricey, but I'd pay it...their stuff is like art and the quality/sound is top notch.

That said, I currently have a Magnaflow cat-back and I'm quite happy with it, though that recent video posted by @Ruckus has me thinking about the TRD system again. For those who haven't seen it, here it is...sounds great. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49022

Here is a dealer selling TRD exhaust for 899, I was going to buy one but decided on nonresonated Perrin for 775. http://toyotaterritory.com/Scripts/p...modelname=FR-S

I test drove a used FRS with the TRD exhaust, and I wasn't impressed at all. It seemed high pitched. I also have a 5.7L grand cherokee though - it's been a long time since I had a 4 Cyl. That helped me decide against a TRD for that price, though.

Still need to hear a TRD in person.

Might save a couple hundred by going with a Perrin resonated and keep a mature sound exhaust.

Go with the Perrin. The TRD sounds like it was designed by a12 year old...

I belive that's where I got mine. The web site looks very familiar and mine had free shipping.

All the TRD haters... lol

1500 seems excessive though. Mine was 800.

That being said I love how mine sounds.
Heres a vid...

Nice!!!

True, TRD gets a lot of hate. I have the exhaust coupled with the TRD cai and those are the most satisfying add ons I done to my FRS.
