Starting to wonder if maybe I should have gone with the titanium coating option. I'm probably one of the few that chose the chrome thermal coating, but I do want it to look badass when I've got the hood open.

I think it looks the best without coating, gotta seem them rainbow welds!

I love this header but one thing has been on my mind though...I've noticed that the pipe from cylinder #2 (I believe..the one with JDL tag on it) has kink in it where it comes in towards the engine. The prototype and old flex joint versions were much straighter and the design change was most likely due to the skid plate clearance issue.

My concern is that having kinks in piping usually creates back-pressure which could cause reversion because it is so close to the engine but piping diameter has been increased so it could actually support exhaust scavenging but I have no data that proves that it will or will not do any of this.

Thoughts, opinions, Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

That bend isn't a kink. It's still a smooth flowing pipe. If it was crush bent rather than mandrel bent yes that would be an issue. That was added to fit the new flex as they are larger. We would prefer to use the smaller compact flex but those weren't as good as claimed

Just installed my header this evening.

First, I have no idea how to get a ratchet or torque wrench on those suckers. Even with a wobbly thing, I couldn't get it to work. I ended up with a 14mm ratcheting wrench and just doing it by hand as tight as I could, but without much leverage.

On initial startup, there was some smoke out of the header so I thought it was leaking, but then that stopped and I could not feel any leaks by hand even with the wife revving it.

Second, combined with my Perrin overpipe and Perrin 2.5" resonated catback, this thing sounds truly amazing and the power feels great. @moto-mike sent me an updated tune for the header, and the torque dip is a thing of the past for sure. I'll be taking some video over the weekend and will post back.
