Took delivery...Love the car but couple concerns

Hey Guys,

TMMC employee here...I finally joined the party and purchased a 2013 asphalt FRS (Pics coming soon). Car drives amazing, no need to convince anyone of that really...but I have a couple small concerns.

1) When the wipers on intermittent, I hear a *click* every time the wiper comes on...similar to the click you hear on your change signal. Is that normal? I've never had a car that did that.

2) Some guys have complained about grinding issues, but mainly when they shift guys. I hear some grinding (almost like a stick in the spokes of a bicycle sound) when I leave the car in 3rd or 4th to slow the car down. Ie revving up to 4-5k and then letting the gear slow me down I hear some strange grinding noise all the time.

Other than that I love the car so far!

Edit: I thought I would post my delivery photo as promised. Loving the car so far!

No idea bout #1, but for #2, I've seen a lot of talk about changing the tranny fluid helping a lot with that sort of thing. How many km do you have on it now?

She just turned 1k kms. I broke it in to as best as I could (a couple times I took up to 6k merging on the hwy etc). I wouldn't mind going to motul or redline for the tranny fluid.

If I were you, I'd do that and see what happens.

There was those rare cases where an insufficient amount of tranny fluid was added to the car as well.

If the OP is experiencing grinding I'd take it in right away. There's more than a few threads where people had their transmissions replaced under warranty for similar things. Most of the reports are on the upshift and not the downshifts interestingly.

Hello mankarn86 and ....

I don't hear any clicking with my car's wipers; of course, with my poor hearing, I don't hear a lot of things ....

As far as the transmission noise, you might check to make sure the transmission fluid level is up to the fill point (as mentioned above).

Hopefully, it will calm down after a few more miles.

If not, maybe some different fluid may quiet it down ... and smooth it out.

It's raining today and had my wipers on, I didn't have any clicking noise.
I'm assuming that noise happens when it begins the motion to swipe

I've never even driven my car, so I'm tapped out on giving suggestions. That does sound sketchy though.

It's only on intermittent cycle. It's almost like I can hear the timer expire before the wipers engage. Maybe I have superhuman hearing Lool.
