Yeah, due to the threat of rain, we made the course shorter than normal. However since it didn't rain (it rained shortly after we finished packing up), we gave everyone 7 runs instead of the normal 6 runs. The good part is that Larry was able to still put in about the same number of technical elements as in the longer courses (not to make excuses). Hope to see you all back in Woodbridge on Saturday July 27th. Ed |

So another great course from AI yesterday in Waldorf. Ended up coming in 6th out of 15 in STX, falling right behind Chad. I wanted to share a quote from the day with everyone which was comical. Alan Claffie, who is a buddy of mine and runs an STS prepped NA Miata, asked if he could co-drive my car. I said sure, so he did his runs in mine.
After coming around from his first lap he said: "Man, I have to get used to driving a car like the FR-S that is so heavy and powerful!" I had a great chuckle at that because only a Miata driver could say that about our cars. Anyway, the run: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m9BEWz0grY&feature=c4-overview&list=UU6780ugqgKbKwKs7vFqzwyQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m9BEWz0grY&feature=c4-overview&list=UU6780ugqgKbKwKs7vFqzwyQ[/ame]

So STX got our runs in before the rain, which was awesome. In this video you'll see the start of the drizzling. Loved the course today. My time was good for 9th/20 in STX, but was the most competitive I have been relative to the class leader to date (times were pretty compressed today). Also comparing, I was less than a second off of Fred and Biggins in RTR (big congrats to them for locking down 1 and 2 in that class), and lost to Chad amongst the Twins in STX:

Great day at FedEx today. Ended up pulling 6/21 in STX, and beat everything but those damn E36's again. Was a really fun course. As always, great time competing with everyone:

Had a great day today in Frederick. Really enjoyed getting to drive a bunch of people's cars and compare to mine. Highlight of the day, driving Leon's car and shouting at the tires, and driving Matt's car and shouting "TURBO!!!!!" whenever the boost kicked in. Here is my best (make sure to watch in HD!):

Ended up 8th of 17 in STX at Fedex Today. Chad beat me amongst the Twins. Was a very fast course. Good luck to Jay on his 5 month deployment and we'll see him back in STX in the spring:

Are you still running the ZIIs? Have you added any other goodies? I only got to talk to Chad for a minute because they screwed up our grid order, but I think he mentioned switching to Rivals?
I loved the course; it was definitely a BRZ/FRS course! |

I loved the course, very fast. I had to soften up the rear a lot, but once I did I put down some respectable times. |

Trying not to muddy up your video thread, but...

Any thoughts on the Rivals? I'm still not fully sold. I didn't like the ZIIs at the beginning of the season, but I'm warming up to them. I'm anxious to see how the new Kumho V720 will stack up among whatever else comes out next year. Your times looked quite competitive! The BMWs have a 'standard' setup that is known, so you guys will catch them with a little more development. |

This was my first SCCA event with the Rivals and I have no complaints. I have only driven Z2's in a smaller size, so I'm not sure I can really compare them. Either way it would be really nitty-gritty, they are both excellent tires. All the BMW's that beat me were on Rivals as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either tire. I would probably buy whichever tire is cheaper. |

No worries, all autocross talk here is good!
So at the last CDC event I drove Leon's car which has similar suspension mods to mine, but he has the Koni inserts. He is on V12's so I definitely noticed a grip difference vs my ZII's, but front the perspective of the suspension bounce-back, the Koni's felt really nice. I wonder if I need to go to a full coil-over. I don't really need much in the way of adjust-ability if I can find a setup I like, and also I don't really think I need to change the stock spring since the rate biasing is pretty good, maybe just the insets would do for me. Thoughts?
