Finally got some time to get my new Regamasters wrapped in rubber and fitted to the car. I ended up getting Achillies ATR Sports 205/45/17. Originally I wanted 205/40 but was concerned that going from an 18" to 17", coupled with 40 profile tyres, would lower ground clearance too much. I know I could adjust my coils but being that my Kiwamis sit so well at the current height, I didn't want to mess with them. After taking some measurements before and after, it turns out I didn't actually loose any ground clearance so I'll definitely try 205/40 on my next tyre order in a few weeks.
It's not perfect, but I'm proper happy with how they look on the first attempt. Keeping in mind, these are my drift wheels for use on the track so I didn't want super aggressive offsets/widths this time around. We'll leave that for the Kiwamis ![]() Please share what you think! Again... you'll have to deal with my very amateur photography ![]() Home time for regas with rubber! ![]() Side by side with Kiwamis ![]() What Achillies ATR Sport look like in 205/45/17 ![]() Dat camber on the old fronts! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Are those tyres the correct size they look way smaller than your rolling diameter on the Kiwamis??

These are wheels are dedicated for drifting so more stretch = more slides plus looks better IMO.

Sub'd for updates! I've been really hesitant about lowering simply because of the weaker axles. I'm curious to see that even though the DSS axles are 600HP rated if they are able to hold up to the stressed geometry.

The DSS axles are seriously huge. My tuner is pretty confident I'm not going to break them but if anyone's going to snap one, it will be me. I must admit I have had a few little issues here and there with the DSS axles but nothing too major. The first was leaking grease from the cv boot. This was resolved by replacing the (for the lack of the correct name) pinched tight clamps that came on the axles to adjustable clams that can be adjusted or retightened if need be. That seemed to sort that out. Next issue we found was a small leak of dif oil on the side the original axle broke. I ordered a new dif seal from Toyota and had my tuner replace the faulty one. That seemed to fix the leak for a week however apon installing my wheels today, the damn leak is back! Fucking cars. The car goes into the shop tomorrow for a service and I'll advise them that the leak is back. They can deal with all of that. I hope they've some how fucked up the installation of the new seal because If they haven't, I may have a whole other issue on my hands. BUT besides all that.... They're great! Haha Will keep you informed. Cheers
