I feel that Subaru believes all of their cars are to be driven gingerly on the roads, by happy go lucky couples or families taking trips to national parts and petting grizzly bears or taking your dog to the K9 olymipics.
Then suddenly Ken Block showed up and every 18 year old kid with access to their parents credit card bought an STi, blew it up and asked them to rebuild it. I think they just assume anything weird going wrong on a car means that the owner had to be filming a Gymkana video or some shit and you took your neon green wheels off and brought the car in. It's almost patronizing the customer by not warrantying items like this. They did the same shit to me when my axle was clicking. Makes me wish I would have bought an FRS. I hope it works out for you and CSG. /rant.

Just click on the members name, read his profile, read his post, look at his pictures and follow the leads. Hell, I am an amateur. If I can do that, imagine what a car manufacturer, insurance company or law enforcement agency can do.

I hope Scion/Toyota does not act like this if I ever have a problem with my FR-S.
FTR though if I were CSG Mike I'd be at a lawyer in a heartbeat. If the case looked strong enough a lawyer would pick it up and it would not cost me a dime (except the settlement fees after I won). |

It's pretty obvious that Mike is yet to lawyer-up, otherwise the first thing the lawyer would've told him is to stop posting about this on the forums. I think this is a mistake. No matter who's right in this situation, Subaru's stance is likely motivated by making it extra hard to prove your case even if you're 100% in the right to discourage people who are not 100% in the right from even attempting to warrnty their very first blown engines.
Gonna have to lawyer-up, mate. Subaru won't take you seriously until the letters from you arrive on some "Iceberg & Steinberg, LLP" letterhead. |
