Do I need aftermarket bolts to install an uel header?
Hi,
I just bought a used uel ft86 catted header, along with a pair of new grimspeed gaskets. I currently have the stock overpipe, will I need any additional hardware such as additional/different bolts to mount the new header? or can I reuse the original bolts that connect the header to the overpipe when installing the new header? Thank you! |

You don’t. I’ve had my header off 3 times and still on stock nuts. Just make sure they’re not chewed up and the thread is smooth and clean.

I used the same OEM nuts and swapped out the header about 5 times.
Last time also had a turbo manifold hanging off it. If you use a torque wrench and tighten the nuts up properly you wont need new ones.
