But this discussion about the Fumoto valve did make we think about why nobody makes a remote oil drain kit. That would be even better than the Fumoto valve. Because the flat four engine is so short and sits so far back, it is the most PITA of all my cars for me because I have to slither so far under the car to get access to the drain bolt (which almost cancels out how easy it is to get the oil filter). So, instead of a drain plug, install a banjo bolt and fitting and a tube or a 90* AN elbow with braided steel line that goes to the front of the car... Hmmm... I wonder if that would work... Well as long as you're going to all that work, you might as well run another line and put an oil cooler on the end. Put a Fumoto valve at the low point near the wheel well, and you can drain the oil by simply turning the wheels hard to one side, and sliding a drain pan behind the wheel.

how much muscle did you put to screw the bolt back on? That's insanely tight to strip the threads off. That has to be double the torque to screw on lug nuts.
Simple solution: fumoto valve! Screw it on once and don't strip the threads off the first time and you'll never worry about stripping off the oil pan bolt ever again! |

Hope it's just the plug and that can be fixed...when I was a rookie I cracked my tranny case because the washer felt off and I didn't notice!

Agreed partner. How difficult is it for somebody to get their lazy ass under the car take off the panels use old fashioned hand tools and change the damn oil. Just Damn. They need to learn about the machine underneath them. No way in hell I’d trust the fugimoto valve long term.

I love my fumoto valves. And I've barely used them
