I side with what you stated above, but from a Dealership aspect, any customer added component that affects the drivetrain, is considered to be a Warranty Voiding component.
Tell me... how do you void a warranty? Do you just write or call Subaru and tell them you want your warranty voided?

It's weird, because I cannot find any wording in the warranty that allows me to void my own warranty...

When you bring your vehicle in with wheel bearing issues, Warranties are voided because of your air fresheners lol

Glad I'm no where near your dealership.

Kinda off topic, but what, we get a service plan included? I thought we only got the warranty and any maintenance service plan was extra.

what a bunch of stupid things to say.

If you don't know how warranties work, I suggest you not comment.

Its sarcasm.

The 2 year "complimentary" maintenance plan includes oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point vehicle inspections. I believe Toyota/Scion provides 4 services within the 2 year interval if I'm not mistaken. They (salesman), like to make it seem as it they are free, but you really are paying for it tucked away inside the car deal.

Its called the "Scion Service Boost" maintenance plan.

  • Normal factory-recommended maintenance services3 for up to 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.
  • No cost 24-hour roadside assistance4 for up to 2 years from the date of purchase.
  • Maintenance performed by trained technicians who know your vehicle the best, using Genuine Scion Parts.
  • Service reminders mailed to you prior to your next scheduled service.

Check your paperwork to be sure, or call your dealer service department and ask. When I bought mine in late 2013/early 2014, Subaru was advertising the cars with a maintenance plan that covered your first four service visits. That was four oil changes, plus a tire rotation and a cabin filter at 15K miles.

When I had to get my first oil change done in a different state (I was on a road trip at the time), I called the local dealership and asked if my maintenance plan was good there. He told me it was nationwide, but that he would need to look up my VIN, as he put it, "to see if you have 'service.'" That seems to imply that some cars don't come with the service plan, so it may be a matter of whether the local dealership includes it when you buy the vehicle. But like I said, when I got mine, Subaru was advertising it with the service plan.

Either way, it's a nationwide plan once you have it, unless your local dealer does their own plan separate from that. There are some car dealers in my area that are doing their own "free oil changes for life" thing, and that's NOT a nationwide plan.

The Plans are Nationwide unless stated otherwise like "extrashaky" mentioned above.

So the previous post you made is not sarcasm, yet still full of wrong info.

Good to know that dealer workers are not to be trusted.

/sarcasm, sorta.
