If you and your wife are the size of average Asians, you will have little to no problem with using the 86 as a family hauler for the first year or so. There are quite a few products that will allow you to transport all the baby gear you need and still be able to fit a weeks worth of groceries and diapers. I also found it easier to put the baby seat in the 86 than a Camry because there's virtually no lifting involved as you can pretty much slide it onto the base at waist level. The only real issue is when the baby is in a rear facing convertible seat.

Your set up should be baby seat in the rear passenger seat and passenger behind the driver. If you can't fit someone behind you, then the car is too small. Don't be that guy driving their parter in the front seat looking like a pretzel. It's not comfortable no matter what they say and it makes you look like a jerk.

Well if you are trading in for a newer model I would hope it already has all the proper parts. If you need to start swapping out parts then you traded for the wrong thing.

IMO unless you can sell it for more, keep it and get an older Camry for kid duty. My buddy had to trade his (new at the time) 350Z in at a loss and is still screwed three years later(when it woulda been paid off😂&#128514

^Best Forester ever!

I tried finding one on a few occasions. No luck. If you can find one, snatch it up. Quick!

The older ones are. New ones are pretty much just your standard SUV.
