No it would ruin the car. It would become uncontrollable at best and deadly at worst. Putting that much power into something so light and small is like strapping a solid rocket booster onto a go cart and then wonder why it blew up a building instead of taking a corner. Look at how many threads have been posted about guys hooning it, or just being careless and getting into a wreck. That's with the "meager" amount of horsepower the car already has...
I have an '08 Tacoma. It has a whole 36 more HP in a vehicle that weighs nearly twice as much....granted it's got a lot more low end torque...but it's a truck! Trust me... 200HP is plenty for this car.

What the car really needs is more torque, and no torque dip...get those two things fixed and it would be the perfect "cheap" sports car.

The 250 to 300HP gets thrown out a lot here.
I think these numbers have come into popularity due to the fact they are getting to be pretty standard for some of the bigger and heavier sedans and people think that they should be in every car. This is not always so and the paper numbers game can be deceiving.

I can not even start to imagine trying to drive this car as a DD with that sort of HP. Weekend fun car or track monster maybe but not as a DD. As it is I chirp the tires by accident if the road is even damp, a quick lift and blip in a turn can whip the rear around and a few seconds of acceleration at high revs will put me over any posted speed limit there is. I doubt I ever drive the thing over 60% of it's capabilities. What is gained by going all the way up to 300hp other than bragging rights?

Welcome to the Forums!

Please just disregard most of the people on these forums that just like to bicker back and forth. Glad you like the car!

The Brz was my first car as well. I loved mine while I had it and am highly considering getting another one. Just glad to see somebody enjoying the car and having fun with it

Welcome to the club! The BRZ is an absolutely amazing drive.

If you're really worried about the power, you could always turbo or super it

Congrats

Congrats, you bought a great car. I can def say after owning the BRZ for a few months that it's an amzing car that always puts smiles on my face when I drive. I've only done minor things to the car, and currently looking at a nice header with and a tune. What are your plans with the car?

BTW the ppl in the forum for the most part are very helpful . You can find everthing you need here.

Yes, I apologize. I'm just very biased since I deeply love the M4.

Congrats dude.

Compared to the shitty Corolla I had (120 hp to the crank), this car is both luxurious and fast!

Hope you enjoy the thing for a long time to come.

Yeah, I saw your other thread first. First car, new driver? Us old guys need to swoop down on you to save a life. Forget about moar powah. Learn to drive first.

I'm not kidding. I get the feeling you're less than 20 years old. Am I right?

Please don't be offended. I'm happy for you and hope to see a reply here.

Oh I am not. I'm not looking to modify it any time soon haha. I just wanted to know what other thought about turbo or supercharging a BRZ and yes I'm under 20 haha
