That's the one thing I hate about power windows. Because when they break it's expensive to repair or replace. My FRS is the first car to have power windows.

Then I would stick it in the console but then forget about it. Also, I might be more amenable to it if one did not have to step on the brake pedal for the car to start. I know that is not much different than stepping on a clutch when starting the car but I expect auto cars to be much more simpler to use...
What in the world do you have in your pocket to get the fob to poke you? o.O

LOL. I carry a "murse" so I generally have nothing in my pockets except sometimes my car keys (I usually clip them to my "murse" as well). So, when driving, I have nothing in my pockets. Having the fob in my pocket is annoying especially since they seem to be getting bigger and bigger to include more features or something...

I just put my "keyless" keys in one of the cups in my BRZ while I drive, or that little space below the a/c stuff. Or If I'm wearing a jacket I put em in the inside pocket or somewhere so I never have to take them out, it's pretty convenient in my opinion.

Why not just keep the fob clipped to your manbag? The fob doesn't have to be in your pockets, women put them in their purse why don't you?

Aside from "That's what she said" comments... Ohh...

They're no bigger than remote starts, to be honest. Even less problematic than a key and a fob as well. Either way, there's a keychain attachment to the fob. I have no problem and sometimes forget I have it in my pocket...then freak out when I think I lost it.

Or that moment of panic when you try to unlock the door but you are too far back and the fob signal doesn't quite reach
"Shit is that thing in my pocket or not? I just had it damnit. Oh, it is there, I just need to move forward two more inches. Wow that was scary for a second"

LOL. Thanks everyone for your "advice". In the end, I just think those push button starts and keyless entry are silly gimmicks and just one more thing to go wrong. If there comes a day when a car I want only comes with push button start or keyless entry, I will suck it up and live with it (but still grouse about it) like I had to with ABS, TC, airbags, non-CD stereos, back up cameras, blue tooth, PS/PM/PW/PL, ad infinitum. None of them are deal killers and I might even be willing to overlook my current deal killers, RWD and MT, if a car is good enough.

It wasn't my intent to hijack the original topic, "Totaled my 2015 FR" (wow, really got off-topic...).

LOL

Yesterday I went to grocery store and a cart came out of nowhere and hit my rear. Car is totalled. Sniff.

I believe the keyless entry part is built into the base of the key. I'd pop it open and remove the guts or cut off the actual key part to make a nice, smooth fob. BMW keys are nice and smooth so there's no poking, but they're also way too large.

Clip it to a big hook on your pants. Or in my case Now is a Pokemon lanyard with my house keys so I don't have to screw around to try to get my hanging keys close enough to the door keyhole 😅

It was either that or wearing a fishing vest everywhere.
