Road noisy tires, aren't a hazard, they are just noisy because of a design flaw.

This is EXACTLY, the same issue with our stock gas pumps. They are fundamentally flawed in design so that they chirp when they are going at a specific flow rate when our cars are on.

So, the only way to get rid of it....is???

wink:wink:, if you don't want noisy tires.......YOU CHANGE THEM FOR DIFFERENT TIRES

hint:hint:, if you don't want a noisy gas pump....YOU CHANGE IT TOO, FOR A DIFFERENT BRAND MODEL PUMP!!

I had chirping for the first 900 miles of my car's life, and now I don't have any chirping in my car, and I never will again. You know why?, CUZ I CHANGED MY GAS PUMP, for an Ethanol compatible one.

Did I just make this 300+ pages thread irrelevant or what? :-P
Wow so you're better and smarter than everyone. If you know a compatible pump than post a link to it. Selfish you knew and didn't mention it on here. Don't you think?

It is interesting to me that some BRZ and FR-S cars don't exhibit the chirping issue. Mine has become steadily louder and more intolerable; from no pump noise at all when I bought it, to a light chirp that could really only be heard with the windows down, to the current madness that now permeates my cabin every time I come down in revs. I tell myself it's normal for this car, but I just drove a BRZ with an Edelbrock supercharger and was very surprised at how much quieter his car was than mine. No chirping at all. Apparently, it hasn't been an issue for him. If he ever wrecks it or parts it out, I'll let someone else make an offer on the supercharger, as nice as it is. Right now, all I want is his HPFP.

Yeah mine makes the chirp too, they say its because of the ethanol in U.S fuels, mine surprisingly doesn't do it all the time though, guess it depends on the station and fuel blend for that fill up.

Funny thing is is that its nearly impossible to find completely ethanol free fuel in the U.S these days, theres a page that lists stations state by state that are ethanol free, but the closest one to me is like an hour away, i certainly am not driving an hour to fill up. Lol

Depends on where you are, and what other types of uses for fuel in the area. In my 40 mile commute to work I pass 5 stations that sell ethanol free fuel, mostly small Mom and Pop shops that cater to the boating and offroading crowds.

You don't need Ethanol free, just 10% or under

Just following up: the crickets are gone. Hot weather, cool weather, long drives, short drives. I am guessing that storage tank at the station in the poor neighborhood must have had old premium gas. I see a lot of cars there but I suspect most people just buy the 87 stuff and the 91 just sits? Anyway, all's good now.

I live near a station that has ethanol free gas. Once I filled my tank with ethanol free the crickets went away at idle. I would still get occasional chirps while actually driving, but the frequency seemed less than that of gas with ethanol. (10%?)

Too bad ethanol free is $3.53 a gallon!

Hey GT86Asia please post the brand name of that fuel pump. I bet a lot of us would make the investment and install one in our cars. I would...

So having the cricket noise. Haven't replaced any parts yet. Using Costco 91, and Chevron 91. Both have crickets.

Anyone got their Fuel pump or whatever that is causing the issues with the new pump from the 2017 models yet? Is it even compatible?
