Will the cause of the chirping cause any damage or failure? Especially if i go FI?

According to the TSB from Subaru, the chirping noise will in no way effect the performance or reliability of the high pressure pump.

Noticed it at a drive-thru window the first time. It's actually really loud, and quite annoying.

Got my car back yesterday, they took off the top part and exposed the fuel pump for pictures. They took several and sent them to Toyota technical to look at why this pump is still chirping. I might be back in next week if they need my car more. My dealer is actually trying to get something done and not just blowing it off. They don't even take my car through the wash. I've even met the guy who works on my car. All really good people at Round Rock Toyota.

I'll hear more about it in the coming days and into next week.

I've yet to see a confirmed new pump chirping at the old pumps sound level. Should be technically impossible, give the sound dampening of the new pump.

I wasn't told. I'm going to ask for the pictures today to verify. There was one other who had a chirping new pump as well.

Got the new pump installed today. Crickets are gone for now. I'll report back any change, using different fuels, etc. It's actually weird having it sound right. Nice, but weird.

I have a confirmed new pump, and it chirps.

Agreed. Scion won't give me another one until another new revised pump comes out. I have talked with Scion USA and that is their stand. It is intermittent, unlike Matt's, but annoying nonetheless.

Had mine installed today and pick her up tomorrow. I will also update the thread.

I've had the new pump for about a month now with no issues or chirps to report here.

glad that it's nice and quiet lol

also, for any BRZ owners the Subaru p/n 16625JB010 is on no backorder at the moment and there are 63 available for shipping at the different RDCs around the country

400 miles on pump #SU003-05176, no chirps so far

BUT I WILL BE EVER VIGILANT! Idle is a bit rougher then it was the first 250miles on the new pump but w/e might just be my imagination or crickets hatching 0_0 ... idk I'll keep ya posted
