Also, all these products have some form of petroleum distillates in them, and they don't list any other ingredients. I'm curious what sets them apart from each other, if anyone can tell me. For instance, I have a bottle of Seafoam at home that I previously used with a motorcycle. Could it have had a similar effect to the Sta-Bil Marine Blue? Possibly. Probably? But I thought it best to try something more specific, rather than the cure-all that Seafoam purports to be.

Been running Ethanol free 92oct for 6k miles now (7.8k on the car total) and still no crickets.
I'm lucky I live in a coastal state with a lot of boat owners, quality E0 is contextually easy to come by. I had to put 2 gallons 92 E10% in the other day because I didn't have time to make it to the E0 pump before work and the crickets came back within a few miles. The next day I swapped back to E0 and bam, no crickets. |

Almost 500 miles and I got crickets today
Fortunately cicadas are very populous in our area and are louder than crickets, so the way I see it, I should be okay until it gets too cold lol |

I would like to officially change my vote. I voted over a year ago with a couple thousand miles on my car and there were no crickets. I have had them for quite a while now and they seem to be getting worse.

Okay, so the Sta-Bil Marine Blue did not eliminate the crickets, so don't run out and buy this on my recommendation. I'm going to keep trying it though.
You know what is strange and seems to make them go away for a little while? Opening the gas cap. Is the tank airtight? Any reason this would make a difference? Maybe I'm still imagining things, so I'm going to keep experimenting. |

1. Use E0. This isn't an option for people who live in urban areas. 2. Use 2 stroke oil. Kills the chirps for me. I put it in the fuel tank at a 1:1000 ratio. I use Lucas Oil 2T semi-synthetic w/ low ash. A small bottle costs me $3.99 at Pep Boys. It contains enough for 4 fill ups. Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk 2 |

Around 500 miles. I just checked for the first time and I definitely have the noise, although after growing up spending summers on Cape Cod back in the sixties (cricket central), I would never have come up with crickets as a description.
I didn't check the manufacturing date, although it is a 10th anniversary edition which should mean it is fairly recent, correct?

So is the key here to dump in a fuel system additive that claims to lubricate the system?

Yeah, if you care to spend money to fix an inconvenience. I am just waiting till Toyota does something about it and when that fix happens (which I'm hoping is a new pump, not a "revised" one) I'll do that.

There's one fuel additive that doesn't just claim to lubricate the system, that's it's sole purpose. 2T

After they did the chirp fix at the dealer, my chirps have returned. Pshh, this is annoying.
