Now that it has about 1016 miles on it, it does it every time once it has warmed up.

Anyone take the car in to get the crickets fixed with any modifcations (exhaust, intake, etc). Just wondering if there is any resistance with mods on the car to get it fixed, although I don't see how it could be since it is such a well known issue.

I think a woodpecker snuck into my engine to get after the crickets...

The idle noise seems to have gotten worse, adding a slight tapping noise to the chirping. I noticed it this morning. It doesn't seem to be severe, but there's a rapid, soft tapping noise coming out with the chirps. It's not a clang, nor does anything sound broken, and the car runs fine. This does have me a bit worried. I guess I'll have to take it back to the dealership, even though they don't have a fix for it yet.

You should take your car in asap. Others have experienced the woodpeckers, which is a sign of a failing HPFP. Wonder if everyone's crickets will become woodpeckers, as we're starting to see more of this.

"So here is the diagnosis. The fuel pump technically did not fail, but there was a mechanical issue with it. The service rep, didn't know exactly what have out or how long it would have lasted. I think my case is the first of this nature. My personal speculation is that it probably would have completely failed if I didn't have it dealt with."
