Be a Lyft / Uber driver. Seems like a pretty easy way to fill some time and make some extra money. This is assuming you have another car besides the frs/brz that can accommodate more than two people .

I was "promised" a full time position after a year of working there (currently a full-time temp) but it has been 19 months and still no dice. So, I've been looking elsewhere for employment. I landed a job at the local BevMo that I'll start once this semester of school is over as a part-time job along with my fulltime job. I have also been selling personal artwork on the side to help, as well as, finding anything in the house where I can sell it on craigslist or ebay, etc.

My best advice is;
Looking for another part-time job
Look around, find anything you might think would be valueable and try to sell it. (I sold a extra Nintendo 64 in working condition for $150 on ebay.)
If you're creative make something and sell it. Theres some websites such as; Cafepress, Etsy, etc.
Damn son, how do you afford your car? Don't know what field you're in but I find it odd how a temp position would yield that much less than full time.

This is actually very circumstantial and results vary drastically based on where you live. More than likely, the costs outweigh the profits. Not to mention racking up additional mileage on your personal transportation only ends up depreciating what you already own.

Agree with you on the geographic variances for this specific side job. No comment on the margin on this gig. I do know that working during rush hours nets you a higher rate, and that early morning taking people to the airport is very common. I would never be a driver in my FRS, but if I had a daily that I didn't care too much about I would consider this as an easy option with low barriers to entry.

I am a temp that works 40 hours a week. I was originaly put on the job because the girl who originally had it was going on maturnity leave. When she came back, they didnt lay me off but they laid off the other person who was working there as well. Let me explain...

It was originally 2 people working as admins. 1 was going on maturnity leave so I took her place. So there was me and someone else. When she came back from maternity leave, all 3 of us worked there. What ended up happening was the girl who went on maternity and I got promoted to Project Co-ordinators. And the someone else was still admin. When the someone else was laid off the girl who went on maternity and I picked up her responsibilities as well as continued with our current project-coordinator work.

I was "promised" to become an "full-time employee" to the company without 1 year of working there. It's been 19months.....

Dude, I would be pissed..... Same thing almost happened here where they tried to extend me as an intern for another 6 to 12 months.

Luckily, the dude I replaced left right as my internship ended. So happy that I got moved to full time employee. I could have afforded the car as an intern, but even more so as an FTE now.

Unfortunately Uber requires that you use a 4 door vehicle as your transportation so your FRS would be safe!

Not so sure about Lyft since I don't have much experience with them.

Fixed that for ya. And isn't it ironic that ridesharing was promoted in that 2016 Scion FR-S commercial?

Anyway, I believe both Uber and Lyft require four-door vehicles less than ten years old, which means I don't qualify since obviously my FR-S is a two-door sports car and the only other four-door I have is a '98 Crapolla. This is fine with me since I don't want anyone in either car

Besides that, there's a lot of concerns to consider when using Uber, Lyft, or any other ridesharing service, either as a money-making tool or as a taxi service.

Yeah, it forces me to look elsewhere for more work. I hate living almost completely paycheck to paycheck.

Full time job, Full time girlfriend, part time school, part time BevMo, and starting to detail cars in my free time as well, not to include any artwork I can make/sell....

I need 2 of me..

Dropping current full time job down to part time, and starting second full time job in a couple of weeks. Both pay relatively decent. I'm pretty excited.
