Cheap doesn't always have to look cheap. As far as appearance mods, you have a 2016 so I'm pretty sure you have the stitched leather knee and speaker pads, and maybe cluster cover. The new ones are also coming with the nicer false CF dash trim also. There isn't a lot I have done to the interior of mine because of this, other than a nice small phone clip, and a super heavy shift knob. You already have all of the nice cheap things people do. LEDs is a good one. Stick to white.

Exterior, I picked up someone's old set of tail lights on the cheap so I can hack them open and black out the chrome. Some people are chopping up their fender "vents" and actually making then vents, which looks good in person and costs exactly one dremel cutting wheel and some wire mesh to complete. If you know how, anyway. BRZ headlights are already pretty top notch, so I wouldn't touch them. Roof vinyl to black it out would be cheap, if you're into that, and fully reversible. Window tint isn't cheap if you're doing it right (ceramic) but looks nice and keeps you cool. Auto dimming homelink mirror is somewhat cheap if you don't buy from the dealer and install yourself.
