Consider the below a cautionary tale in why you should read the manual and think things through before asking a question.

[QUOTE=Summerwolf;2464033]I probably wouldn't try much until you are used to it. The stability nannies help out quite a bit but don't get overconfident. Get used to the car or else you will be the next accident thread.[/QUOTE

As much as it hurts me to do it to the mistress I think I need to take her out onto the track and see exactly what happens on corners. I'm from Lebanon and live in the mountains so I'm used to driving like a maniac on mountain roads in front wheel drives, but rear wheel is another world altogether. But yeah I'm taking it easy on the bends even though that's it's advantage but then again I'm on a public highway not a race track, but seriously it's sometimes like something out of mad max out here with all the souped up 4 wheels and fast cars, so sometimes you gotta show them love back.

Michelline stock tires. I'm a front wheel driver with fast cars( crx, celica 91, scirocco) and to be honest rear wheel feels a bit loose on corners compared to those cars, if it breaks free on a corner you think I can bring her back easily or is she going to cause a drama?
light car, rain, cold, shitty quebec roads and some asshole tailgating you makes for a bad time and some curb jumping.

Where I'm getting at is yes it can feel a bit tail happy, best to go practice in a big empty parking lot. Not saying it will wipeout if given the chance but better safe then sorry is now my go to statement(read above bolded sentence again)

Thanks bro. I think it's the car that's making everyone lose it, shes that Godamn hot. So yeah I can totally relate to what's going through those petrol heads. When you're behind the wheel you go into a gt86 trance and you just drive and drive with a stupid grin on your face, taking on whatever crosses your path just for the hell of it, next thing you know you've driven 400 kms "as I did today" and still wanting more at the end of it. What a work of art. Its designed to be an everyday car below 3000/ 4000 rpm and when you start on 5000 it suddenly turns into a race car, you can drive it like a Yaris to do your daily chores and use it like a race car whenever the mood takes you. What the hell is this thing? I christen mine "the mistress" because she's so Godamn hot. God bless you nut cases, drive safe, drive hard.

The FR-S uses Toyota Synthetic 0w20 hence it's ability to last so long. It essentially has NORMAL oil change intervals of every 6-7.5 months or 7500 miles whichever comes first thats basically every 12070 kilometers. Severe Condition intervals will be every 3.75 months or 3,750 Miles which is every 6000 kilometers. I personally edge on the side of caution and do it ever 4000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first.

Honestly it's up to you if you do the oil changes yourself.....

Idle control on modern car is actually quite complex here are just a couple of the tables that control idle under various conditions

its normal for car to idle at 1500 or so during warm up idle once warmed up will be around 650-700 depending on coolant temp intake air temp and various other factors

air-conditioner compressor cycling on/off will cause idle to vary a couple of hundred rpm up/down

It's basically starting at higher RPM to reach the goal of 700 rpm depending on the ambient temp. 700 rpm is excellent for fuel consumption when you're in traffic as well. What a clever little car

I noticed the other day in traffic that because the car is drive-by-wire, it will actually drive itself. If you take the clutch in, the ECU will use the throttle to keep the engine running, even if you give it nothing with your right foot. It's kind of nice when crawling along the freeway at under 10km/h.
