Not doubting the validity of the kit (we have had huge discussions on the kits there believe me) but if the dealer got the kits back when it was a different white of course it doesn't match now.

Eventually, forever (or at least until you put a new engine in)
Did your car not come with an owner's manual? If not you may want to get one. If so you need to give it a read. Soon!
Ok I put in first and let her rip, it did indeed cut off at 7400, red warning light=cut off, door closed engine off no annoying beep, car stationary nav unlocked and works fine. Thanks a lot guys. Now I'll sort out this kit business, if worse comes to worse, I'll either repaint it myself ( as in pay to have it done) or just forget about it. I love the car, and am covering a lot of distance in it, straight line, curves it's all fun. Won't make the cut off a habit but I think that's what protects the engine from blowing out as I used to constantly reach cut off with a 1975 scirroco but that was at around 6200 RPM.

If you end up having to do it yourself I would just hold off a while. Eventually you won't even notice it anymore and it is going to get all chipped up anyway so might as well wait for that to happen and then do it.

You can set what RPM you want the shift light to come on. It's in the manual like Tcoat said. The engine cut off when it reaches rev limit is a standard feature. For me it's more like ~7800.

Ok Ill look through the manual, but u can actually set ur rev limits? If its not complicated can you tell me how. Doesnt that require getting hooked up to dealer computer? Ill lower mine to 7000 rpm because I plan on keeping it for a while ( for ever) so less stress on the engine.

You can't actually set the rev limit without a tune and recalibrating the ECU. Not something I would recommend for the street or if you don't want to be replacing the engine any time soon. What you CAN set (and instructions are in the manual) is the point at which the red light will come on to remind you to up-shift. A peripheral notification so you can keep your eyes more on the road or track. This does nothing to change the rev-limit point which is there to save the engine.

I see. Thanks a lot. I didn't think I could set rev limiter so easily. So at 7400 RPM she will remain. Is it complicated to to set the red light?
