U used to get what u paid for..... Now days some other aftermarket manufactures make better quality parts for around the same price..

I dont hate TRD at all i just think they eventually become outdated parts....

Just checked... no luck. If you're talking bout rotors & brake pads, Brembos & Hawk is as good enough

Eh... Advics brake on the first FT-86 concept seems to be appealing. I know Brembo is good all around, but I don't think Advics is just meh.

trust me, in the automotive world, you get what you pay for. you wouldn't believe how many cars i've worked on, and how many different parts i've used, and the common theme is that you really do get what you pay for.

can you come up with any examples of superior parts at the same price? or lower? (not trying to be a ****, but i'd like to get on the same page as you, see what parts you're talking about, and who knows, we might even agree) :happy0180:

doing a quick google search, i find the Cusco lsd is about $220 more than the TRD. i found the TRD 2 way for $966, and the Cusco for $1189 (i made sure it's the MZ). maybe i didn't find the best prices for both, but...

I know that's the price for the supra as well, 996 for the TRD 950 for the KAAZ I'm not 100% on the cusco

Yeah thats pretty spot on... Its roughly about $150 more but better quality... My point was that other aftermarket manufactures bring out better quality for around the same price... And that those aftermarket manufactures perfect/upgrade those products and more often than TRD...

Edit: I didnt check KAAZ prices but if Boost junkie is correct even the KAAZ 2 way at a cheaper price is as good, if not better than the TRD diffs.....

I wonder if the aftermarket support for Toyota Racing Development will share technologies with Subaru Performance Tuning, or vice versa?

I would be interested to see the variations in both companies "upgraded" parts.

hmm this thread reminds of the debate between the Purist people who believe anything factory tune is best and the new gens that believe that the Aftermarket is best. I'm a purist so I would really pour my money into TRD stuff. But I think Im done with modding my car, last car I spent too much on parts which I barely used, since I never got to track the car. Honestly for the FT86 if I can buy it out of the factory with full TRD mods n stuff as such and it's not over hideous, or too much bad taste for me. For example I don't like the front facial of the G concept. Then I would buy it just like that.

Thought for a stock car I would probably just do the simple bolt on/ Exhausts and use part from top companies such as HKS and so fourth.

I tend to go the route that helps the out put the best, and not just for Dyno queens, I believe a fairly rounded performance is best, but that's just me

My opinion, highly doubt it
